Job Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails)
Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent | Remote

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong Ruby on Rails experience who thrives in solving complex technical challenges, delivering high-quality solutions, and sharing knowledge with the wider engineering team. You'll have the opportunity to work on a modern, scalable platform, solve complex technical challenges, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products.
You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to build, maintain, and improve applications that deliver real value to our customers. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will contribute to feature development, system improvements, and technical problem-solving while continuing to grow your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Ruby on Rails applications and backend services.
- Build and maintain APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver new features and improvements.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and production issues.
- Support application performance, reliability, and scalability improvements.
- Contribute to testing, deployment, and continuous integration processes.
- Document technical solutions and share knowledge with the wider team.
- Continuously develop your technical skills and stay current with industry best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive commercial experience developing and maintaining scalable applications using Ruby on Rails in a senior engineering capacity.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles.
- Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript, with the ability to build and maintain modern, scalable user interfaces and contribute across the full application stack.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software.
- Experience using Git and collaborating within an Agile development environment.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges, breaking down problems and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of Docker and containerised applications.
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience working within SaaS, e-commerce, or technology-focused businesses.
