Company Description MENA Engineers connects hiring teams worldwide with rigorously assessed technical professionals from across the Middle East and North Africa. The organization replaces crowded talent marketplaces with focused, evidence-based introductions backed by a structured, human-led vetting process that covers identity, communication, practical ability, experience, and references. Candidate privacy is central, with profiles kept off public platforms and identifying details shared only after candidates review and approve specific opportunities. Current specializations include mobile engineering, backend and cloud, frontend development, QA automation, data and AI, and product design. MENA Engineers enables vetted professionals from the region to contribute to global teams through high-quality, remote engagements.
Role Description The Senior Generative AI Engineer will design, build, and optimize generative AI solutions, focusing on production-grade systems that support real-world applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and fine-tuning models (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models), evaluating model performance, and implementing robust data pipelines and inference services. The role involves close collaboration with product and engineering stakeholders to define requirements, experiment with architectures and prompts, and translate business needs into scalable AI features. This is a contract role with flexible engagement terms, and the position is fully remote, requiring effective asynchronous communication and ownership of deliverables.

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning, including experience with generative models (e.g., transformers, large language models, diffusion or GAN-based approaches).
- Proficiency with modern ML and AI tooling, such as Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and frameworks or platforms for training, fine-tuning, and serving generative models.
- Experience building scalable backend or ML infrastructure, including APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and cloud-based deployment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure or similar).
- Applied expertise in prompt engineering, model evaluation, experimentation, and benchmarking, with a focus on safety, reliability, and performance.
- Strong software engineering practices, including version control, testing, documentation, and code review in collaborative environments.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team, manage priorities in a contract setting, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience shipping generative AI products or features to production; familiarity with data privacy, responsible AI principles, and secure handling of user data is highly beneficial.
