Senior GNC Engineer Apply now About the Role We are seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to lead the development of GNC solutions across our missile portfolio. You will drive the design, analysis, and validation of navigation, guidance, and control algorithms that enable precise, stable, and robust flight performance. At Frankenburg, you will work alongside leading experts in technology and national defence, developing next-generation air defence missile systems for the free world. You will collaborate across disciplines, influence critical technical decisions, and mentor the next generation of engineers while helping bring advanced defence technologies from concept to flight. Key Responsibilities Navigation & Estimation Development Lead the design of navigation algorithms, sensor fusion architectures, and state estimation solutions. Guidance & Control Design Develop guidance algorithms, trajectory optimization strategies, and flight control laws that meet mission requirements. Modeling & Simulation Create and maintain flight dynamics models and simulation environments in MATLAB/Simulink and Python. Analysis & Verification Conduct robustness, sensitivity, and Monte Carlo analyses to validate system performance under realistic conditions. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with flight physics, airframe, actuation, sensor, and systems engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize system performance. Technical Leadership Lead design reviews, technical documentation, risk assessments, and mentor junior engineers. Flight Testing Support flight test planning, execution, and post-flight analysis to continuously improve models and algorithms. We Would Love You to Have Educational Background Master's degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline. Experience 7+ years of experience in GNC, flight dynamics, or related aerospace engineering fields, ideally within missile, launch vehicle, aircraft, or UAV programs. Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of guidance, navigation, control systems, state estimation, sensor fusion, and flight dynamics. Software Skills Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python for modeling, simulation, and algorithm development. Leadership & Communication Strong communication skills, technical leadership capability, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Mission Alignment Strong alignment with our mission to build affordable and mass-manufacturable defence technologies — ensuring every euro spent moves us closer to our goal. Security Clearance Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment. Open to Relocate Willingness to relocate to Tallinn. Our Values Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity. Own the Mission: Mission first. Always. We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions. Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible. We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time. Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises. We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating. Ready to Make a Real Impact? Apply now! The deadline is September 27, 2026 , but we review applications and reach out to qualified candidates continuously. Department Engineering Role System Performance (GNC/Aerodynamics/Flight Dynamics) Locations Tallinn, Estonia Remote status Hybrid About Frankenburg Technologies Group Frankenburg Technologies a is a European defence technology company building affordable, mass-manufacturable guided missile systems for modern air and missile defence. This is a demanding engineering and manufacturing challenge. Guided missile systems must be precise, reliable and safe to operate, while also being affordable enough to use against mass aerial threats and producible in quantity. Frankenburg's first system, Mark I, is a guided interceptor missile, designed to defeat unmanned aerial systems, including drone swarms, at close range. Alongside missile development, Frankenburg is building the factories, supply chains and production processes needed to produce missiles in quantity and replenish them quickly. Headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, Frankenburg operates in Latvia, the United Kingdom and Germany, with further European presence in Lithuania, Poland and Denmark.
