Senior Golang Engineer (Banking)

Spendbase is a global fintech company with a startup mindset, helping businesses optimize their spending on SaaS, cloud services, and corporate cards.

We’re building and scaling fintech products used by businesses worldwide, and we’re looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join our Banking team.

You’ll work on backend systems powering financial products, contribute to technical decisions, and help
strengthen security across our systems.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Go.

• Design and integrate APIs using REST and gRPC.

• Build reliable and scalable financial systems, ensuring their performance, stability, and security.

• Identify potential security vulnerabilities and implement solutions to protect financial data and transactions.

• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka, Temporal to support data-intensive applications and asynchronous workflows.

• Contribute to architectural decisions, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and security.

• Collaborate with engineers, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality features.

• Take ownership of technical solutions from design to implementation and production.

What we’re looking for

• 4+ years of experience in software development, with strong backend engineering expertise.

• Hands-on experience with Golang in production environments.

• Previous experience in fintech, banking, crypto, or trading products.

• Solid understanding of application security, common vulnerabilities, and potential attack vectors.

• Experience building and integrating REST APIs; familiarity with gRPC.

• Experience working with PostgreSQL and designing reliable, scalable systems.

• Understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing.

• Strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and the ability to make sound engineering decisions.

• English level B2 or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-load and distributed systems.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.

• Experience with other backend languages, such as Java or C# or Rust

• Previous experience in a fast-growing product company or startup.
