Position Summary
The Senior Hardware Quality Engineer provides quality leadership for connected hardware products such as communication badges, wall mount cameras, video streaming devices, gateways, and IoT platforms. The role ensures products are designed, tested, manufactured, and released with a focus on reliability, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality activities for new product development and sustaining engineering projects.
- Drive Design for Quality (DfQ), risk management, and reliability engineering activities.
- Facilitate DFMEA, PFMEA, hazard analyses, and design reviews.
- Review and approve verification, validation, and reliability test plans.
- Support manufacturing transfer, supplier qualification, and process validation.
- Investigate field failures, customer complaints, and non-conformances; lead CAPA activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Analyze quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Hardware, Firmware, Software, Operations, and Supplier Quality teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or related Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware quality, reliability, or product quality engineering.
- Experience with electronic devices, embedded systems, cameras, wearables, wireless, or IoT products.
Technical Skills
- DFMEA, PFMEA, CAPA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis
- Reliability testing, Environmental & EMC testing
- Electronics, PCBAs, batteries, sensors, cameras, wireless technologies
- Manufacturing quality, supplier quality, and process validation

Work Flexibility
- Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.
- Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based.
- Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
- Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
