The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Housekeeping Executive to oversee housekeeping operations, cleanliness standards, room readiness, public-area presentation, laundry coordination, team performance, inventory control, and guest-service support.

The ideal candidate will provide strong operational leadership, maintain rigorous housekeeping standards, coordinate effectively with Front Office and Engineering teams, manage housekeeping resources efficiently, and ensure guests consistently experience clean, comfortable, safe, and well-maintained environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations across guest rooms, residences, public areas, back-of-house areas, and assigned facilities.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest comfort.
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping activities according to occupancy, arrivals, departures, room status, and operational priorities.
  • Prepare daily work assignments for room attendants, public-area attendants, supervisors, and other housekeeping personnel.
  • Monitor room-cleaning schedules and ensure rooms are released according to required readiness standards.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office regarding room status, priority rooms, early arrivals, late departures, VIPs, and special guest requirements.
  • Monitor room inspections and ensure rooms meet established cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards before release.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, public areas, corridors, elevators, facilities, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Identify cleanliness, maintenance, presentation, or safety issues and ensure prompt corrective action.
  • Coordinate with Engineering regarding maintenance defects, preventive maintenance, repairs, and room-out-of-order situations.
  • Track housekeeping-related maintenance requests through completion.
  • Ensure guest requests related to housekeeping are handled promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate special cleaning requirements, extra amenities, additional beds, baby equipment, accessibility needs, and other guest requests.
  • Support VIP arrivals, special occasions, executive stays, long-stay guests, and high-priority room preparations.
  • Maintain appropriate guest-room presentation standards for different room categories and service levels.
  • Ensure room amenities, linen, towels, toiletries, minibar-related items, and other supplies are replenished correctly.
  • Monitor the condition, cleanliness, and presentation of guest-room furniture, fixtures, equipment, and soft furnishings.
  • Coordinate deep-cleaning, periodic cleaning, seasonal cleaning, and special maintenance programs.
  • Establish and maintain housekeeping schedules for carpets, upholstery, curtains, windows, floors, bathrooms, and other areas.
  • Oversee public-area cleaning and ensure lobbies, corridors, elevators, lounges, restrooms, recreational facilities, and other guest areas remain presentable.
  • Coordinate cleaning requirements for meetings, events, restaurants, shared facilities, and special functions.
  • Ensure back-of-house areas, offices, service corridors, staff facilities, and housekeeping stores are maintained appropriately.
  • Manage housekeeping linen operations, including collection, distribution, storage, replacement, and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with Laundry teams or external laundry providers to ensure timely availability of clean linen and uniforms.
  • Monitor linen par levels and identify shortages, excessive usage, damage, or unexplained losses.
  • Maintain effective controls over housekeeping supplies, chemicals, amenities, equipment, linen, uniforms, and operating materials.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile inventory records with physical quantities.
  • Monitor consumption patterns and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate procurement requests and replenishment of housekeeping supplies according to approved requirements.
  • Work with Procurement and suppliers to maintain product quality, availability, pricing, and service standards.
  • Evaluate housekeeping products, cleaning chemicals, equipment, amenities, and operational supplies where required.
  • Ensure all cleaning chemicals are properly labeled, stored, handled, and used according to approved procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate safety controls for housekeeping equipment, chemicals, manual handling, and cleaning activities.
  • Ensure housekeeping teams comply with occupational health, safety, hygiene, and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct housekeeping safety inspections and address identified hazards promptly.
  • Promote safe working practices and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for housekeeping activities.
  • Review and update cleaning procedures, room-checklists, inspection standards, and service guidelines.
  • Monitor adherence to housekeeping SOPs and service standards across all shifts.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Track housekeeping complaints, service failures, recurring defects, and guest feedback.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions to address recurring housekeeping issues.
  • Monitor lost-and-found procedures and ensure guest property is handled, documented, stored, and returned according to company policy.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and discretion when handling guest belongings and personal information.
  • Coordinate housekeeping support during emergencies, incidents, maintenance disruptions, room moves, and operational contingencies.
  • Prepare contingency plans for staffing shortages, high occupancy, extended stays, unexpected room demand, and service disruptions.
  • Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate housekeeping coverage across shifts and operational areas.
  • Prepare work schedules, shift assignments, leave plans, and staffing requirements according to forecast demand.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, grooming, conduct, and performance of housekeeping personnel.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop housekeeping supervisors, attendants, public-area teams, and other support staff.
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational priorities, VIP requirements, service standards, and safety updates.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in housekeeping operations, hotel operations, hospitality management, serviced residences, luxury accommodation, facilities services, or related guest-service environments, preferably within premium, high-occupancy, multi-room, or internationally operated properties.

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing housekeeping operations and teams.
  • Strong understanding of hotel, resort, residence, or hospitality housekeeping standards.
  • Experience supervising guest-room and public-area cleaning operations.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, hygiene standards, room presentation, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Experience coordinating room readiness with Front Office and Guest Services teams.
  • Strong understanding of linen, laundry, amenities, cleaning supplies, and housekeeping inventory management.
  • Experience conducting room inspections and quality audits.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety, chemical handling, hygiene, and environmental requirements.
