The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Housekeeping Executive to oversee and coordinate housekeeping operations, room cleanliness, public-area standards, laundry coordination, team performance, inventory control, guest requests, and quality assurance.

The ideal candidate will combine strong hospitality knowledge with hands-on operational leadership, attention to detail, workforce coordination, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and execution of daily housekeeping operations.
  • Monitor housekeeping activities across guest rooms, suites, corridors, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and other assigned facilities.
  • Ensure rooms and public areas consistently meet established cleanliness, presentation, hygiene, and service standards.
  • Coordinate daily room-cleaning assignments based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, stayovers, VIP requirements, and operational priorities.
  • Prepare or support housekeeping schedules, room assignments, shift plans, and staffing requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, public areas, and housekeeping facilities.
  • Verify room cleanliness, amenities, linen, bathroom standards, furnishings, equipment, and overall presentation.
  • Identify housekeeping defects and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
  • Work closely with Front Office to coordinate room status, early arrivals, late departures, room moves, and priority rooms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates of room status in approved systems.
  • Coordinate preparation of VIP rooms, suites, special occasions, and personalized guest requirements.
  • Monitor guest housekeeping requests and ensure timely completion.
  • Handle guest concerns relating to cleanliness, room condition, amenities, and housekeeping services.
  • Support effective service recovery and escalate significant guest issues when required.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering regarding room maintenance defects and facility issues.
  • Follow up on maintenance requests to ensure rooms are returned to service promptly.
  • Monitor lost-and-found procedures and ensure guest property is handled according to company policy.
  • Maintain appropriate controls over master keys, access cards, room keys, and restricted areas.
  • Ensure housekeeping employees follow established security and confidentiality procedures.
  • Supervise room attendants, public-area attendants, housemen, linen staff, and other housekeeping personnel.
  • Allocate duties according to workload, staffing levels, room requirements, and employee capabilities.
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational priorities to housekeeping teams.
  • Train and coach team members on cleaning techniques, room standards, guest interaction, safety, and company procedures.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new housekeeping employees.
  • Conduct regular competency assessments and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, grooming, conduct, and service readiness.
  • Support performance reviews and employee-development plans.
  • Identify training gaps and coordinate appropriate refresher training.
  • Monitor productivity and ensure efficient use of housekeeping labor.
  • Establish productivity expectations for room attendants and other housekeeping personnel.
  • Monitor cleaning times and adjust workflows to meet operational demand.
  • Ensure adequate availability of cleaning chemicals, guest amenities, linen, towels, uniforms, equipment, and operating supplies.
  • Monitor housekeeping inventory and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Establish appropriate stock rotation and storage procedures.
  • Monitor consumption of guest amenities and cleaning products.
  • Minimize waste, damage, overstocking, and unnecessary consumption.
  • Coordinate with Procurement regarding housekeeping supplies, amenities, equipment, and vendor requirements.
  • Inspect incoming housekeeping products for quality, quantity, and compliance with specifications.
  • Coordinate with Laundry regarding linen availability, quality, collection, delivery, and processing requirements.
  • Monitor linen par levels and ensure sufficient stock for expected occupancy.
  • Track damaged, stained, missing, or unusable linen and coordinate replacement requirements.
  • Ensure proper segregation, handling, storage, and transportation of clean and soiled linen.
  • Maintain housekeeping stores and service areas in clean, organized, and secure condition.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained, stored, and used.
  • Report equipment defects and coordinate repairs or replacement where required.
  • Ensure correct use, dilution, labeling, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, infection prevention, and workplace safety.
  • Ensure housekeeping teams comply with applicable health, safety, fire-safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct housekeeping safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for spills, broken glass, hazardous materials, and other housekeeping-related risks.
  • Maintain appropriate procedures for handling guest belongings, valuables, and sensitive items.
  • Support sustainability initiatives involving water, energy, chemicals, linen, plastics, and cleaning-product consumption.
  • Implement appropriate linen-reuse and environmentally responsible housekeeping practices.
  • Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, internal quality reports, and satisfaction indicators.
  • Analyze recurring housekeeping issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct quality audits and track housekeeping standards over time.
  • Benchmark housekeeping standards against relevant hospitality practices.
  • Support room inspections for new openings, renovations, refurbishment projects, and property improvements.
  • Coordinate deep-cleaning schedules, seasonal cleaning, preventive cleaning, and special projects.
  • Support housekeeping requirements for events, group arrivals, conferences, weddings, and high-occupancy periods.
  • Maintain accurate housekeeping reports covering room status, inspections, productivity, staffing, inventory, linen, maintenance, and incidents.
  • Prepare management updates on housekeeping performance, risks, service issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication between Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other departments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve housekeeping efficiency, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational consistency.
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives across housekeeping operations.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in hotel housekeeping, hospitality operations, luxury hotels, resorts, serviced residences, or premium accommodation environments, preferably within internationally recognized hospitality properties.

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience supervising or managing housekeeping operations.
  • Strong understanding of guest-room cleaning, public-area cleaning, linen operations, and housekeeping standards.
  • Experience coordinating room assignments, staffing, inspections, and daily housekeeping workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and presentation.
  • Strong guest-service and complaint-resolution capabilities.
  • Experience supporting VIP guests, luxury accommodations, and special room requirements.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills.
  • Experience managing multicultural housekeeping teams.
  • Strong organizational and workforce-planning capabilities.
  • Ability to manage high occupancy, peak periods, group arrivals, and operational pressure.
  • Strong inventory and stock-control knowledge.

  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety, chemical handling, hygiene, and environmental practices.
