Show job description

The Nemetschek Design Business Unit was formed in mid-2026 through the integration of two leading brands of the Nemetschek Group, Vectorworks and Graphisoft. It provides software design solutions for the Architecture industry, and Entertainment business, covering software development, product management, sales and marketing, supported by back-office functions such as IT, HR and Finance. The BU operates through multiple legal entities across several countries and continents.

The integration of the two brands is ongoing, with continuous consolidation of processes, leadership and ways of working toward one unified business unit in operations and culture. In parallel, a Group-wide HR harmonization brings multiple global process rollouts that will support and must be aligned with the integration. This is a senior yet hands-on role, combining strategic partnering with operational HR work.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary strategic and hands-on HR advisor to leadership of both brands (Vectorworks and Graphisoft) globally, with a primary focus on the Americas, (mostly US and additional coverage of Canada and Latin America) supporting Design BU functions in achieving their goals. The role currently has a global scope, supporting teams across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Over time, the geographical focus may evolve in line with business needs, with a potential shift towards primarily supporting the Americas.
  • Contribute to and execute HR strategies aligned with Design BU and brand business objectives, within the frameworks of the Design BU HR (Budapest) and Nemetschek Group Global HR (Munich).
  • Support integration-related HR projects: harmonization of HR processes, policies and practices across both brands and their legal entities, alignment of leadership structures and ways of working, and building a common Design BU culture.
  • Coordinate the local rollout of Nemetschek Group-level global HR processes and programs, aligning and embedding them into the ongoing Design BU integration roadmap.
  • Guide and coach local management on talent strategies, succession planning, and leadership development in alignment and based on the guidance from Design BU HR.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives addressing workforce challenges, organizational design, and culture transformation in alignment with Design BU HR.
  • Oversee complex employee relations and investigations; advise on legal and employment risks, ensuring correct application of US federal and state employment laws as well as relevant Canadian and Latin American regulations, while also providing global support on these matters in other countries in close collaboration with local legal counsel.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, forecasting and organizational design in alignment with Design BU HR, ensuring structures support business strategy.
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) and the global People Services team to ensure a coordinated HR response to organizational challenges.
  • Manage and contribute to reorganizations and restructurings, providing guidance on change management.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and oversee implementation of employee development programs.
  • Support culture development initiatives to foster engagement and alignment with company values.
  • Support and facilitate leadership development programs.
  • Participate in implementing career path frameworks to support employee growth.
  • Support or manage local talent management processes, including talent reviews, succession planning, and the annual salary review cycle in alignment with HR COEs and Design BU HR.
  • Manage and support recruitment for the region in partnership with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition, oversee internal talent movements and onboarding as appropriate.
  • Manage local processes of employee engagement surveys and support execution of action plans based on results.
  • Manage HR development initiatives to enhance employee experience and support retention in alignment with BU HR guidance.
  • Support HR administration by providing inputs to People Services for HR systems, preparing documentation, letters and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, Group policies and Design BU standards.
  • Advise management on labor relations strategies and employee relations matters.
  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (or equivalent, e.g., PHR/SPHR) required
  • Proven experience as a Senior HR Business Partner or similar HR role, ideally in an international software/technology company
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of US employment law; working knowledge of Canadian and Latin American HR practices is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of organizational design, talent management, and labor relations
  • Experience managing reorganizations, post-merger integration, culture change, and leadership development
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with global HR processes and HR information systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Data-driven, precise and analytical working style with strong process and system thinking
  • Proactive and independent, yet able to follow Group requirements and work within Design BU frameworks
  • Hands-on mentality, comfortable with administration, data uploads and documentation
  • Reliable, accurate and conscientious, able to partner with senior leaders and drive strategic HR initiatives
