Senior HSE Specialist

Role Description The Owner role is a part-time, remote position responsible for providing overall strategic direction and stewardship of the DIGI-CARE program. This role oversees program vision, sets priorities, and ensures alignment with national health objectives and public health needs. Day-to-day tasks include guiding digital health product roadmaps, reviewing research and implementation plans, and coordinating with partner institutions, public health teams, and technical vendors. The Owner monitors project progress, risk, and resource use, and supports decision-making on scaling, policy engagement, and sustainability. The role also involves representing the program in stakeholder meetings, nurturing collaborations, and promoting ethical, inclusive, and patient-centered digital health practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in public health, health systems, or health services research, preferably related to noncommunicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
• Background in digital health, health informatics, or technology-enabled care solutions, with the ability to guide product strategy and implementation.
• Demonstrated leadership and governance skills, including program ownership, stakeholder management, and strategic planning for multi-site initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including interpreting data, reviewing research outputs, and supporting evidence-based decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with government partners, clinical teams, technical experts, and community stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time responsibilities effectively, and coordinate across geographically dispersed teams.
• Familiarity with India’s public healthcare system and health policies is highly beneficial.
• Advanced degree in public health, medicine, health management, social sciences, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
