Description

The Senior Human Resource Manager is a strategic HR leader responsible for overseeing employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and HR operations. This role partners closely with leadership to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and employee-centered culture while ensuring HR programs align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The position provides expert guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, policy administration, and workforce development, while leading benefits and leave administration, HR analytics, and process improvement initiatives. The Senior Human Resource Manager also supports talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and team leadership, serving as a trusted advisor who drives organizational effectiveness, employee well-being, and continuous improvement across all areas of human resources.

This is a hybrid position. The position is located at 833 Chestnut St, Suite 1100, Philadelphia, PA 19107. The hybrid schedule requires three consecutive days in-office. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM (Can also be 8:30AM - 4:30PM or 9:00AM - 5:00PM). The salary range for this position will be $78,000 - $81,500 annually.

Leadership

  • Oversee key Human Resources initiatives, including employee relations, benefits, employee communications, appreciation and wellbeing events and activities, and other people-related programs.
  • Work as an active strategic partner to ensure all assigned HR undertakings are aligned with a high-performing, inclusive, and engaged culture that facilitates MHP’s goals and initiatives.
  • Ensure HR and organizational pursuits are seamlessly implemented with clear and timely communication.
  • Determine and enforce best use of HRIS tools to obtain data and analysis utilized to enhance HR processes and provide valuable information that drives meaningful progress.
  • Support the Vice President of Human Resources in leading a highly efficient HR team with identifying areas of further departmental growth and individual professional and career development.


Employee Relations

  • Manage employee relations and provide guidance and support to employees and leaders in a manner that supports compliance with Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations.
  • Counsel leaders on policies, procedures, people management, employee development, and appropriate conflict resolution steps; perform investigations when required.
  • Navigate ambiguous, complex, and sensitive issues while promoting effective conflict resolution, mediate disputes, and address grievances with sound decision-making.
  • Ensure effective working relationships with and between managers and employees and act as a liaison where applicable.

Employee Benefits and Wellness

  • Execute a comprehensive benefits strategy and remain current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, leave of absence administration, and other fringe benefits. Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit enrollments, status changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employee benefits. Ensure the company's benefits programs comply with all legal requirements and reporting obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State Leave of Absence laws as well as internal practices.
  • Ensures status changes and offers/revocation of coverage are consistent with company policy and ACA requirements.
  • Manage relationships with benefit providers, including insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits options. Provide guidance and support to employees regarding benefits-related inquiries and issues.
  • Lead and Manage the Annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Administer and promote employee assistance programs as well as health and well-being initiatives.
  • Generate regular reports on benefits utilization, costs, and trends.


Performance Management & Learning

  • Provide coaching and development tools for site leaders and employees, as well as HR direct reports as needed.
  • Implement and support performance management and succession planning programs to strengthen leadership capability, talent development, and achievement of company goals.
  • Ensure an effective culture and learning environment that is open, empowering, fair, equitable, inclusive, and engaging. Use relevant data through survey results, open communication, and other workforce management data to lead decision making.
  • Foster compliance, adherence and understanding of company policies and procedures while supporting consistent application across the organization.


Other Relevant Duties

  • Support the HR strategy to attract, retain, and develop employees to support the organization’s short- and long-term goals.

The approximate pay range for this position is $79,000 to $82,500. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a closely related field required, master’s degree a plus.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., SHRM CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, required)
  • 7 years of experience in HR leadership to include employee benefits management, employee relations, compliance and investigations.
  • Demonstrated Proficiency with HRIS-Payroll, Benefits Administration, Analytics and Reporting. Experience with Paylocity, a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations related to employment such as FLSA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, etc.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a diverse HR team while overseeing various organizational priorities.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, trauma-informed, and strength-based presence when engaging with employees and supporting operations.
