Senior HR Manager, IPM
King of Prussia, PA | Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is seeking an experienced and collaborative Human Resources Manager to support our growing physician network across multiple markets.
Founded in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS, IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics that align with UHS acute care facilities. We also provide select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Today, IPM operates in 13 markets across seven states and the District of Columbia, and our teams remain committed to improving the health and wellness of the communities we serve.

The Senior HR Manager supports HR operations across assigned IPM markets and serves as a trusted business partner to operational leaders and employees. This role is responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, HR systems support, engagement, reporting, compensation administration, and training. The ideal candidate is a resourceful, flexible, and proactive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides ongoing strategic HR oversight and expert consultation to IPM Division offices and designated IPM Markets.
- Acting as a trusted HR advisor to the leadership team, this role delivers comprehensive guidance across all facets of human resources including performance management, employee relations, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits administration, worker’s compensation, leave and unemployment management, payroll, as well as employee orientation and onboarding programs.
- This position champions employee development by supporting management training initiatives and drives efforts to enhance Employee Satisfaction and Service Excellence through the development, oversight, and continuous monitoring of related programs.
- Supports key HR operations initiatives across IPM Markets, managing a diverse portfolio of complex and specialized HR projects.
- Leading employee relations investigations, collaborating with IPM HR field teams and market leaders to ensure alignment and standardization in new hire orientation, employee engagement, performance evaluation, compensation practices, HR training, and the administration of HR systems and reporting.
- Contributes significantly to strategic HR planning and development to optimize resource utilization and align HR functions with organizational goals.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field from an accredited college or university required.
Experience
- 8–10 years of progressive Human Resources experience preferred, preferably in healthcare or physician practice operations.
- Minimum 2 years human resources management or supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Supervisory-level experience required.
- Multi-state HR experience required.
Certification/Licensure
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Professional Knowledge and Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong customer service and complaint-resolution skills
- Excellent performance management and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law.
- Ability to multitask with accuracy and strong attention to detail; Responsive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities with timely oversight.
- Comfortable handling confidential, high-level employee investigations.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, respectful, and professional work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Experience with email, spreadsheets, database entry, and standard office equipment
- HRIS experience required, preferably Lawson and Workday, as well as UKG, HealthStream LMS and ICIMS.
Travel
- Minimal travel required.
