The Role

At Sovos, we're building the future of tax compliance software, and we need skilled professionals to bring that vision to life for our clients around the world. As a Senior Implementation Consultant, you'll guide organizations through critical onboarding and configuration journeys, translating complex business needs into working solutions. Your work ensures clients succeed from day one, turning project complexity into operational clarity.

More specifically, you will:

• Act as the primary point of contact for implementing large, complex clients as well as standard clients, managing projects from kickoff through transition to ongoing support teams.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues as they arise, and keeping stakeholders informed of progress and blockers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, IT, Support, Managed Services) to complete configuration tasks and ensure all client requirements are met on time and with high quality.
• Create thorough client procedures and solution architecture documents that capture all configuration details and information needed to support clients going forward.
• Lead dynamic work sessions with clients to design technology-based solutions that solve real business problems, leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Provide standard and advanced training to both clients and internal teammates, building capability across the organization.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, documents, tools, and reports to continuously enhance the customer implementation experience.

What You Bring to Sovos

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• You've successfully managed complex, multi-stakeholder projects in client implementation, project management, or a similar consultative role.
• Strong knowledge of tax rules, processes, and compliance requirements in the relevant product market.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance commitments across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Comfort with AI-assisted workflows and technology platforms (phone systems, software applications, configuration tools) to fulfill implementation requirements.
• Minimal travel may be required to Sovos locations or events.
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire.
