As investment and transformation across the South Island industrial sector continues to evolve, we're seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Industrial Engineer & South Island Lead to join our Christchurch team.


Our Industrial business works alongside clients across food and beverage, dairy, manufacturing, energy and utilities sectors, helping them improve performance, unlock growth opportunities and future-proof their operations. This is an opportunity for a respected technical professional to combine engineering expertise, industry leadership and client engagement, helping clients solve complex challenges while contributing to the growth of Beca's South Island industrial business.


Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity


As the South Island Lead for our Industrial business, you will use your technical expertise, industry knowledge and client relationships to support the continued growth of our presence across the region.


Leveraging your industry experience and professional networks, you'll develop and strengthen relationships with key clients, identify new opportunities and act as a trusted advisor on industrial projects and operational challenges. You'll work closely with clients to help navigate capital investment decisions, operational improvement initiatives and asset management challenges.


You'll contribute across the full project lifecycle, from strategic planning, feasibility studies and business case development through to detailed design, project delivery and asset optimisation. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams across Aotearoa and internationally, you'll bring together the right expertise to deliver successful projects including greenfield developments, brownfield upgrades, compliance initiatives, operational improvements and strategic asset management programmes.

We're interested in hearing from professionals with experience in the food, beverage, dairy, or related manufacturing sectors who are passionate about solving problems, building relationships and helping businesses succeed.


Your background may include:


  • Project Management
  • Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • Industrial or Manufacturing Operations

Most importantly, you'll bring recognised technical expertise within the industrial sector, coupled with either an established South Island industry network or a proven ability to build trusted client relationships that create long-term opportunities.


You'll also bring:


  • Deep technical expertise in industrial engineering, including capital project delivery and operational improvement initiatives
  • Strong industry networks and the ability to build trusted client relationships that generate new opportunities
  • Commercial acumen, stakeholder management and the ability to identify and influence project outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across multidisciplinary teams
  • A passion for delivering practical, value-driven for clients

Regular travel throughout the South Island will be required to support client engagement, business development and project delivery activities.
