About UsWe are a construction-focused organization committed to delivering complex projects through operational excellence, technology-driven innovation, secure digital infrastructure, and collaborative project delivery. Our distributed teams work across Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Design, Quality, HSE, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, Logistics, Administration, Information Technology, and Executive Leadership to support efficient operations and reliable access to business-critical systems.
We recognize that standardized, automated, and repeatable infrastructure provisioning is essential to digital transformation, operational resilience, and sustainable business growth. Through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration automation, version-controlled infrastructure definitions, and modern platform engineering practices, we aim to improve deployment consistency, strengthen security, reduce operational risk, and support the reliable delivery of enterprise technology services.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure as Code Specialist to design, develop, implement, maintain, and optimize automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management solutions across enterprise IT environments.
The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code frameworks, infrastructure automation, cloud provisioning, configuration management, version control, CI/CD integration, policy enforcement, infrastructure testing, and automated operational workflows. This role will focus on replacing manual infrastructure processes with secure, reusable, scalable, and auditable automation that supports cloud, on-premises, hybrid, networking, storage, virtualization, and container infrastructure.
The Senior Infrastructure as Code Specialist will collaborate with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cybersecurity, Network, Systems Administration, Applications, Database, and Project Management teams to establish automation standards, improve infrastructure delivery, manage configuration consistency, and support technology modernization. The role will also ensure that automated infrastructure changes follow approved governance procedures and applicable United Arab Emirates requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Infrastructure as Code Architecture and Strategy- Design and maintain enterprise Infrastructure as Code architectures aligned with organizational technology standards, operational requirements, and long-term infrastructure strategy.
- Develop automation frameworks that enable consistent provisioning and management of cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure.
- Evaluate appropriate IaC tools and technologies based on scalability, maintainability, security, integration capabilities, and operational complexity.
- Establish reusable infrastructure patterns, standardized modules, templates, and deployment conventions.
- Define architectural principles for modularity, reusability, idempotency, consistency, and environment separation.
- Develop reference architectures for infrastructure provisioning across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Identify opportunities to replace manual configuration activities with reliable, repeatable automation.
- Assess dependencies between infrastructure components, applications, network services, identity platforms, and storage resources.
- Recommend automation strategies that reduce deployment lead times, configuration errors, and operational overhead.
- Maintain architecture diagrams, design specifications, technical standards, and infrastructure automation roadmaps.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or equivalent technologies.
- Automate the provisioning, modification, scaling, and retirement of infrastructure resources.
- Create reusable modules for compute instances, virtual networks, storage, load balancers, security controls, databases, and other supported infrastructure services.
- Implement parameterized templates that support consistent deployments across multiple environments and projects.
- Automate infrastructure setup for new applications, business services, construction project systems, and internal technology platforms.
- Ensure provisioning workflows validate prerequisites, dependencies, naming conventions, and resource configurations.
- Apply idempotent deployment practices to minimize unintended changes and ensure repeatable execution.
- Develop controlled workflows for infrastructure expansion, resource replacement, configuration updates, and decommissioning.
- Integrate infrastructure provisioning with approved service request, change management, and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot failed deployments, resource conflicts, dependency errors, provider issues, and configuration inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain Terraform or OpenTofu configurations for supported infrastructure platforms.
- Design reusable modules, variables, outputs, data sources, provider configurations, and environment-specific deployment patterns.
- Establish standards for module versioning, naming conventions, documentation, testing, and source control.
- Manage provider versions, module dependencies, and compatibility requirements.
- Configure and maintain remote state storage, state locking, access controls, and state protection mechanisms.
- Implement appropriate workspace, directory, or repository structures for managing separate infrastructure environments.
- Review execution plans to identify unintended changes, destructive actions, dependency conflicts, and potential service impacts.
- Troubleshoot state inconsistencies, resource drift, import requirements, provider errors, and failed deployments.
- Implement controlled processes for importing existing infrastructure into IaC management.
- Maintain safe procedures for state recovery, resource replacement, configuration refactoring, and module upgrades.
- Evaluate opportunities to standardize Terraform or OpenTofu usage across engineering teams and infrastructure domains.
- Develop and maintain configuration management automation using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or equivalent technologies.
- Automate operating system configuration, software installation, service setup, system hardening, and routine maintenance.
- Establish consistent configuration baselines for Linux and Windows infrastructure where applicable.
- Develop reusable roles, playbooks, templates, and automation tasks for common operational requirements.
- Ensure configuration automation is repeatable, controlled, documented, and suitable for the intended environment.
- Automate patching preparation, service configuration, user and group management, and approved security settings.
- Coordinate configuration management with infrastructure provisioning workflows to provide end-to-end automation.
- Detect and remediate configuration drift in accordance with approved policies.
- Validate automation outcomes and maintain evidence of successful configuration changes.
- Troubleshoot failed automation runs, dependency conflicts, privilege issues, and configuration errors.
- Maintain secure execution practices for credentials, privileged operations, and sensitive configuration data.
