Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Commvault, Linux & Enterprise Storage

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT Platforms team of a well-established Dutch financial services organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong infrastructure specialist who enjoys working across enterprise backup, Linux, storage and virtualisation technologies within a complex, business-critical environment.

We are specifically looking for candidates with demonstrable, hands-on experience administering and supporting Commvault backup environments.

Commvault experience is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Experience with alternative backup technologies such as Veeam, Veritas NetBackup or Rubrik, while valuable, is not sufficient on its own.

• The Commvault environments and technologies you have worked with.
• Your specific responsibilities for Commvault administration, configuration and ongoing support.
• Experience managing backup policies, schedules, monitoring, restores and troubleshooting.
• Any involvement in Commvault upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery or platform improvements.
• The scale and complexity of the environments you have supported.
• The organisations or projects where you gained this experience.

The Role

You will join a small, highly skilled infrastructure team responsible for maintaining and developing critical IT platforms.

The environment combines traditional on-premises infrastructure with Microsoft Azure, offering exposure to a broad range of enterprise technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Administering, maintaining and improving the Commvault backup infrastructure.
• Managing enterprise backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
• Supporting and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Working with enterprise storage platforms, including NetApp, HPE, Hitachi or Dell EMC.
• Supporting VMware virtualisation environments.
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure incidents and identifying long-term solutions.
• Contributing to infrastructure automation and continuous improvement.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across infrastructure, security and cloud teams.
• Taking ownership of technical challenges and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Essential Experience

To be considered, you must have:

• Proven, hands-on Commvault backup administration experience – mandatory.
• Strong Linux administration experience, ideally Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Experience supporting enterprise storage technologies.
• VMware virtualisation experience.
• A solid understanding of backup, recovery and disaster recovery principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to communicate clearly, explain technical issues and work independently.
• Experience working within complex enterprise IT environments.

Desirable Experience

• Microsoft Azure or hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Automation using Ansible, PowerShell or Python.
• Experience within financial services or another regulated environment.
• Commvault certifications.
• Infrastructure migrations, upgrades and transformation projects.

Location & Relocation

The position is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with hybrid working arrangements.
