Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer (SCVMM & Dual-Hypervisor Integration Specialist) Location: Remote / Pakistan Department: ITSM Employment Type: Full-Time Reports to: Cloud Team About AIM Inc. AIM Inc. is a global technology and cybersecurity-driven organization delivering enterprise IT, cloud, digital transformation, and managed security solutions across North America and international markets. We specialize in building scalable, secure, and performance-driven systems that empower businesses to modernize operations and achieve measurable outcomes. Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure Engineer with expert-level experience in Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM), Windows Server Failover Clustering, and cross-platform hypervisor integration. In this role, you will take full technical ownership of designing, building, and delivering a production-ready, highly available SCVMM 2025 management infrastructure. You will onboard a 5-node primary Hyper-V cluster, integrate storage and networking fabrics, establish cross-platform access to a secondary VMware vCenter DR environment managed by a third-party DRaaS provider, and conduct operational handoff to the client. Key Responsibilities SCVMM HA Infrastructure Setup: Deploy a 2-node High Availability (HA) SCVMM 2025 cluster running on Windows Server 2025 (Desktop Experience) with failover management capabilities. SQL Server Integration: Connect the SCVMM cluster to a dedicated external SQL Server 2025 Failover Cluster Instance (FCI). Active Directory & Identity Planning: Configure required Active Directory prerequisites, Service Principal Names (SPNs), and domain service accounts (including Distributed Key Management / DKM evaluation for HA token encryption). Hyper-V Fabric Onboarding: Onboard a 5-node Hyper-V host cluster (Windows Server 2025 Datacenter edition) into SCVMM. Storage & Network Integration: Configure traditional VLAN-based networking (2 host networks) and map shared iSCSI storage running on Dell PowerVault ME SAN (including hosting the SCVMM Library share). VMware vCenter Integration (DR): Onboard a remote VMware vCenter instance (vSphere 7.0/8.0) into SCVMM for Disaster Recovery visibility, establishing access endpoints for a third-party DRaaS provider (11:11 Systems). Knowledge Transfer & Handoff: Package standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation and lead technical walkthroughs for two primary client administrators. Operational Project Scenario To help you understand the exact context of this deployment, here is the real-world operational scenario you will be stepping into: Scenario Breakdown: 1. Primary Workload Environment: The client operates a greenfield 5-node Hyper-V cluster running Windows Server 2025 Datacenter hosting roughly 60 VMs. Storage is backed by a Dell PowerVault ME iSCSI SAN. 2. Your Core Scope: You are responsible only for the SCVMM deployment layer, fabric onboarding, storage integration, and vCenter integration. You will not be responsible for moving, configuring, or altering the internal configuration of the 60 production VMs, nor will you handle hypervisor host OS deployments from bare metal (no PXE/SDN required). 3. Database Layer: The database environment (SQL Server 2025 Failover Cluster Instance) is handled by a separate SQL DBA team, but you must ensure SCVMM correctly integrates with it. 4. DR Integration Boundaries: The DR target is a VMware environment managed by a DRaaS vendor (11:11 Systems). Your responsibility is limited to connecting vCenter into SCVMM and providing standard administrative access so 11:11 Systems can manage replication and DR lifecycles. Replication policies, RPO/RTO SLAs, and failover workflows are out of scope. Requirement Category Technical Standard SCVMM Version Greenfield SCVMM 2025 (High Availability 2-Node Cluster) Management Server OS Windows Server 2025 (Desktop Experience, Virtualized) Managed Hosts 5 x Physical Hyper-V Hosts (Windows Server 2025 Datacenter) Database SQL Server 2025 (External, High Availability FCI) Storage Fabric Dell PowerVault ME SAN (iSCSI Connection) Networking Traditional VLAN (2 Host Logical Networks; No SDN Controller) DR Platform Integration VMware vCenter / ESXi 7.0 or 8.0 Integration Prerequisites Setup Windows ADK for Server 2025 + WinPE Add-on, PowerShell 5.1, .NET 4.6+ Identity / Domain Active Directory Domain (2016 Functional Level), Service Accounts & DKM Setup Technical Requirements & Qualifications ● Demonstrated System Center Expertise: Proven track record of deploying SCVMM in enterprise environments with high-availability requirements. ● Hyper-V & Windows Server Mastery: Deep understanding of Windows Server 2025 Failover Clustering, Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV), Hyper-V virtual networking, and iSCSI storage fabrics. ● VMware Interoperability: Practical experience connecting vCenter environments to System Center for multi-hypervisor visibility. ● Active Directory Security: Proficiency in setting up Distributed Key Management (DKM) containers, configuring Service Principal Names (SPNs), and defining strict least-privilege service accounts. ● Technical Documentation & Handoff: Ability to write clear, actionable architecture summaries, runbooks, and administration guides for operational handoffs. Preferred Qualifications ● Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or System Center certifications. ● Hands-on experience with Azure Arc-enabled System Center integrations. ● Experience coordinating technical dependencies with third-party service providers (e.g., DRaaS/MSRP vendors).
