Come join a growing financial technology company that’s leading the marketplace in both the marketing and servicing of credit cards! Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Support Specialist II to join our Technology Team.
This role supports our infrastructure across two focus areas — networking and operating systems. This posting is for the OS Support track: keeping our Windows and Linux server environments patched, secure, and reliable, including Group Policy, Windows Server roles, certificate management, file shares, and the applications running on those systems. A foundational understanding of AWS is expected; deeper AWS certification is a plus, not a requirement. This role also carries an on-call rotation, which occasionally includes basic networking troubleshooting — while networking is not the primary focus of this track, some working networking ability is expected. This role is also a natural next step for team members growing up from our Infrastructure Support I position.
CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)
This position participates in an on-call rotation.
Essential Functions:
- Patch and maintain Windows and Linux servers on a regular cadence, coordinating third-party application patching alongside OS-level updates.
- Support and maintain enterprise file share environments, including AWS FSx for Windows File Server.
- Manage certificate lifecycle across servers and applications — issuance, renewal, and rotation, including Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) autoenrollment.
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce configuration, security, and endpoint standards across the server environment, including deployment of endpoint security and management agents (e.g., antivirus, DLP, RMM, log forwarding).
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server roles and features (e.g., file services, print services, DNS/DHCP, IIS) supporting the broader infrastructure environment.
- Provide application-level support for software running on managed servers, troubleshooting issues in coordination with application owners.
- Support Active Directory computer and user objects and permissions as they relate to OS-level access.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to server, patching, or application issues outside business hours — including basic networking troubleshooting (e.g., DNS, connectivity) in coordination with the networking team when needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex server, OS, and application performance issues.
- Maintain documentation (runbooks, how-tos, SOPs) for supported systems and processes, and look for opportunities to improve operational awareness and efficiency.
- Participate in audits and security reviews, providing required IT documentation and information.
- Support configuration management, change control, and documentation standards, and drive adoption of continuous improvements in accordance with the ITIL framework.
- Participate in server and OS upgrades, migrations, and technology implementation projects.
- Perform regular and routine maintenance activities in accordance with compliance and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform light administration within the Microsoft 365 admin portal, such as Teams and Outlook/Exchange Online configuration, and basic Intune device management and maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned for coverage as needed.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; BA or BS degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the Information Technology industry.
- Hands-on experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux systems, including patch management at scale.
- Experience with certificate management (issuance, renewal, rotation) in a Windows/PKI environment, including AD CS autoenrollment.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) in a Windows Server/Active Directory environment.
- Experience installing and maintaining Windows Server roles and features (e.g., file services, print services, DNS/DHCP, IIS).
- Experience deploying and maintaining endpoint security and management agents (e.g., antivirus, DLP, RMM, log forwarding) across a server fleet is a plus.
- Experience supporting enterprise file share environments; familiarity with AWS FSx is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory (user/computer objects and permissions).
- Experience supporting third-party applications on Windows or Linux servers — installation, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Foundational understanding of AWS; AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is a plus, not required.
- Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Comfortable with basic networking troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, connectivity checks) to support on-call escalations; deep networking expertise is not required for this track.
- Experience with AD auditing/management tooling (e.g., ManageEngine AD360 suite) is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 admin center — e.g., Teams and Outlook/Exchange Online configuration — and basic Intune device management is a plus.
- Linux or Microsoft certifications (e.g., CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator) are a plus.
- Experience operating in a compliance-driven environment (PCI DSS or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to work well under deadlines and in a demanding environment.
- Familiarity with the principles and practice of configuration management and change control.
- The position requires minimal travel; occasional travel may include overnight stays depending on company needs.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and sit for prolonged periods of time.
