We hope you’ll consider joining our team.

The Integration Architect leads the architecture of the shared technology capabilities the organization builds on, including cloud and platform services, integration, identity, and data. This role sets the principles, standards, and reference architectures that span solutions, owns the enterprise technology roadmap and lifecycle, and is accountable for the coherence, cost, and risk posture of the technology portfolio over time. The Integration Architect exercises significant organizational influence and shapes the technology investment decisions leadership makes.

Job Responsibilities

Architecture Development

  • Produces enterprise architecture, including target state models, reference architectures, and the architecturally significant decisions that span multiple solutions.
  • Designs shared and cross-cutting capabilities used across solutions, including cloud and platform services, engaging directly in solution architecture where those decisions are at stake.
  • Produces integration architecture and owns integration platforms, defining how systems connect and exchange data across the organization.
  • Shapes enterprise security, identity, and resilience posture as an architectural input, in partnership with Enterprise Security.
  • Owns the technical planning approach for enterprise initiatives, and ensures the right technical expertise is engaged where domains and solutions intersect.
  • Builds reference implementations and proofs of concept that prove enterprise patterns before they are adopted broadly.

Continuity and Alignment

  • Keeps enterprise target architecture stable, viable, and consistently applied as platforms, solutions, and vendors change.
  • Decides on exceptions to enterprise architecture direction, and removes structural obstacles that constrain more than one solution or domain.

Standards and Principles

  • Sets enterprise architecture principles, standards, and practices that align technology decisions with business direction.
  • Defines enterprise position on make versus buy, platform and vendor selection, and vendor concentration.
  • Sets architecture methods, tools, and documentation standards used across the architecture practice, and embeds them into how technology change is planned and delivered.
  • Sets enterprise integration patterns and interface standards, and defines the contracts that govern how systems exchange data.

Strategy, Capability and Roadmaps

  • Translates business direction into technology capabilities, and owns the enterprise technology roadmap and lifecycle, determining what is invested in, sustained, consolidated, and retired.
  • Sets enterprise position on emerging technologies, including AI and automation capabilities, proving them where warranted and determining the conditions under which they are adopted.

Trade-offs and Decisions

  • Captures and prioritizes market, technology, and business trends, identifies alternative approaches, and recommends the technology investment priorities and sequencing leadership should fund.
  • Owns enterprise technology cost structure, technical debt, and vendor concentration as tracked outcomes, and builds the case for the investment required to address them.

Leadership and Influence

  • Advises IT and business leadership on architecture direction, and builds alignment across teams and functions where priorities compete.
  • Raises the standard of architecture practice, mentoring technical associates across the organization and shaping how architecture work is done.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience producing architecture that spans multiple solutions and technology domains, including target state definition and reference architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating across SAP landscapes, including SAP integration tooling and the interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Depth in enterprise integration patterns, including API-led, event-driven, and batch, and in the contracts and versioning that govern them.
  • Experience owning integration and API management platforms in an enterprise environment, including selection and lifecycle.
  • Proven design judgment on integration failure behavior, including retries, idempotency, and recovery from partial failure.
  • Experience owning technology lifecycle decisions at enterprise scale, including consolidation, replacement, and retirement across a portfolio.
  • Breadth across cloud and platform services, integration and API strategy, identity, and data architecture, with depth in at least one.
  • Experience evaluating and introducing new technology capability, including proving it and defining the conditions for adoption.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction without positional authority, across teams, functions, and vendors.
  • Experience building the business case for technology investment, including cost, risk, and sequencing analysis presented to senior leadership.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, business or related technical field
  • Experience working in agile or product-based delivery models.
