The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Intellectual Property Specialist to manage and protect the organization's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, designs, and proprietary technical documentation. The successful candidate will support IP registration, licensing, enforcement, risk assessment, and compliance while collaborating with legal, engineering, procurement, commercial, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organization's intellectual property portfolio and related documentation.
• Coordinate trademark, patent, copyright, and industrial design registration and renewal processes.
• Conduct intellectual property searches, landscape reviews, and preliminary infringement assessments.
• Identify potential IP risks associated with construction technologies, engineering designs, software, products, and business processes.
• Review contracts, licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and IP ownership clauses.
• Support negotiations involving intellectual property licensing, technology transfers, and commercial partnerships.
• Monitor potential infringement, unauthorized use, and disclosure of proprietary information.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel, patent agents, regulatory authorities, and relevant stakeholders.
• Advise internal teams on IP ownership, confidentiality, employee-created works, and third-party intellectual property.
• Develop and maintain IP policies, procedures, registers, and reporting frameworks.
• Support due diligence for acquisitions, joint ventures, supplier agreements, and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct IP awareness sessions and provide guidance on protecting confidential and proprietary business information.
• Assist with disputes, infringement claims, oppositions, and other IP enforcement matters.
• Track registration deadlines, renewals, legal developments, and portfolio-related expenses.
• Recommend improvements to IP protection strategies, governance, and risk management processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Intellectual Property Law, Law, Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Significant experience in intellectual property management, IP compliance, licensing, or legal support.
• Strong understanding of trademarks, patents, copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets, and licensing principles.
• Experience reviewing commercial contracts and intellectual property ownership provisions.
• Knowledge of UAE intellectual property laws and relevant international frameworks is an advantage.
• Strong research, analytical, negotiation, and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• High standards of confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Relevant professional qualifications or specialist IP certifications are advantageous.
