Senior Interior Designer - REVIT Technical

Are you a dynamic Senior Interior Designer with an innovative portfolio to match? Are you looking to gain experience across a range of UK and global projects?

We are looking for a creative collaborative team player to join our dynamic interior team, you'll be working on a variety of design projects across multiple sectors and countries with the aim to personally grow and improve as a designer and individual along with mentoring junior members of the team.

The Senior Interior Designer will take day-to-day responsibility for the design and management of projects, consistently maintaining high standards of design quality and client service. The role requires confidence working within integrated, multidisciplinary teams on large-scale international projects, with the ability to lead presentations, coordinate across disciplines and deliver at pace with minimal guidance from the Associate Director.

What we are looking for

• Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or Design related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience working on Concept, Schematic and/or Detailed stage in Interior Design projects.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex interior design projects within an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary design practice.
• Experience collaborating effectively with architects, consultants and other design disciplines in a large-team environment.
• Middle East project experience is highly desirable, together with a strong understanding of regional client expectations, design standards and delivery pace.
• Experience working on international projects and operating effectively at the scale, complexity and pace required by major commercial commissions.
• A positive and creative thinker.
• Ability to think through design problems and outstanding attention to detail.
• Strong Revit capability is essential; proficiency in Rhino is highly desirable. Candidates should combine technical competence with a design-led and integrated approach.
• Confident client-facing communication and presentation skills, with experience developing relationships and presenting design proposals to senior stakeholders.
• An experienced senior designer who is motivated by hands-on project leadership and delivery
• Experience gained within an international design practice or a comparable multidisciplinary studio would be advantageous.
• Team player with collaborative work ethic. Proactive and conscientious.
• Keen to learn and develop skills and share knowledge with more junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• With the guidance of the Associate Director or others in the team, responsibilities will include design strategy, concept design and the production of detailed working drawings and checking the work of others.
• Have fast creative solutions on projects from concept design through to development and presentation, ensuring high quality outputs and creativity, with minimal guidance.
• Strategic innovation through a proven understanding of trends and insights and interpreting these within unique design solutions.
• Source reference and carry out research to illustrate a design direction to the clients, working with architects and graphic designers in the project team.
• Produce concept work using hand sketches and a variety of digital and traditional media to a high standard whilst directing the work of other junior team members on the project.
• Assemble presentations using a variety of digital and traditional media, particularly Adobe InDesign.
• Attend client meetings alone or with the support of the Associate Director leading or contributing to client presentations
• Produce and check drawing packages for Schematic and Detail Stages
• Competently source reference material and carry out research to ensure that materials and products are fit for purpose
• Produce and check furniture and finishes schedules.
• Client facing persona and approach with the aim to maintain relationships and win repeat business through the provided service.
• Ensure successful delivery and completion of a project within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Leading project communication, including liaising with the design & construction team and written communications
• Attend site visits independently and respond to any issues.
• Record design team or site meetings either by minutes, letters, emails or file notes and check the work of others.
• Oversee the work of others where appropriate and delegate work to junior members of the team.
• Motivate, inspire and mentor more junior members of the team.
