Aqueduct Technologies is seeking an experienced, hands on IT professional to own and continuously improve our internal technology environment. This is a highly visible individual contributor position responsible for the day to day delivery of internal IT services, Microsoft cloud administration, employee technology support, IT asset management, and the adoption of AI and automation across the business.
This is a team of one role with no direct reports. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with operational ownership and enjoys being directly involved in solving problems, supporting employees, and improving how technology enables the business.
The ideal candidate has deep experience with the Microsoft technology stack, a strong understanding of modern workplace technologies, and a genuine interest in applying AI and automation to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Reporting to the SVP of Service Delivery, this individual will partner with business stakeholders, Engineering, Security, Managed Services, and external vendors to ensure internal technology services are secure, reliable, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
Unlike many internal IT roles, this position has access to Aqueduct's deep bench of engineering, cloud, security, and managed services expertise. You will have the autonomy and accountability to own internal IT while leveraging specialized technical resources when needed.
This is a hybrid position based at Aqueduct's headquarters in Canton, MA, with an expectation of working onsite approximately 2 to 3 days per week.
Core Responsibilities
Internal IT Operations & Employee Support
- Own the day to day operation of Aqueduct's internal technology environment, serving as the primary point of contact for employee IT support.
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve helpdesk tickets involving hardware, software, Microsoft 365, connectivity, access, and workplace technology.
- Manage the complete employee onboarding and offboarding process, including device provisioning, account creation, permissions, application access, and equipment recovery.
- Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, workstations, mobile devices, and other employee technology.
- Support corporate headquarters, conference rooms, collaboration spaces, lab technology, and shared office systems.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, standards, and internal IT knowledge resources.
- Identify recurring issues and implement improvements that increase reliability and enhance the employee technology experience.
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Aqueduct's Microsoft environment, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure services.
- Manage identity and access, user accounts, security groups, permissions, licensing, endpoint configurations, and device compliance.
- Support core enterprise business applications, SaaS platforms, integrations, and modern workplace technologies.
- Maintain reliable operation of workplace infrastructure, office technology, and business critical systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Managed Services teams to address complex technical challenges and ensure alignment with established security and operational standards.
- Evaluate and recommend technology improvements that support business productivity, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
- Help drive the practical adoption of AI and modern workplace technologies across Aqueduct.
- Apply hands on knowledge of AI productivity platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other emerging AI tools to improve business processes.
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where AI, automation, and technology can reduce manual work and improve productivity.
- Develop, implement, or coordinate automation workflows using tools such as Power Automate, PowerShell, and other integration platforms.
- Support business application integrations and initiatives that streamline internal operations.
- Promote responsible AI adoption through employee education, best practices, and ongoing support.
- Stay current with emerging AI capabilities and recommend practical solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Own the complete lifecycle of internal IT assets, including procurement, inventory, deployment, assignment, recovery, refresh planning, and secure disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, licenses, warranties, and technology subscriptions.
- Review and validate IT vendor invoices, software subscriptions, licensing expenses, and recurring technology costs.
- Track renewals, identify unused licenses or unnecessary expenses, and recommend opportunities for cost optimization.
- Coordinate third party vendors, service providers, and technology partners supporting the internal environment.
- Ensure equipment, software, and technology resources are properly managed and accounted for.
- Regularly assess the internal IT environment to identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain alignment with established security policies, governance requirements, and technology standards.
- Support technology planning, change management, and internal improvement initiatives.
- Execute internal technology projects aligned with company priorities.
- Establish repeatable processes that improve service quality, operational consistency, documentation, and accountability.
- Balance daily employee support responsibilities with longer term initiatives that improve the overall technology environment.
- Build trusted relationships across the organization through responsive, professional, and solutions oriented service.
- Partner with business leaders to understand technology needs, challenges, and priorities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Managed Services, and other internal teams to deliver technology initiatives.
