Future Group is not your traditional financial services company – we're a collective of super funds and services committed to changing our planet now for a better tomorrow. When you join us, you’ll become part of a team united by a clear and important mission: to lead the investment movement by advocating and campaigning for a future worth retiring into.
We are looking for someone to join our purpose-led high-growth scale-up in a Senior Investment Risk Analyst position. The role exists to strengthen Future Group’s mission of shifting capital into sustainable investments by ensuring investment portfolio construction is robustly risk informed. You’ll support the Head of the Investment Risk and Analytics and wider team to implement our investment risk discipline, develop risk analytics, support portfolio construction and provide analysis that informs investment decision-making. And the best bit, you’ll get to work with some fantastic work mates! You’ll work closely with Portfolio Managers, investment and risk analysts and other teams across Future Group.
Future Group values diverse lived experience and identities, and we strongly encourage applications from people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, those with caring responsibilities, from culturally and racially marginalised groups, with disabilities, who experience ageism, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those who face social exclusion due to their social class.
We recognise that the recruitment journey may present unique challenges for trans and gender diverse folk, and we are committed to ensuring an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all. We will happily make any reasonable adjustments to accommodate diverse needs, so if there is anything we can do to support you at any stage of your application, please let us know. About The Role
As the Senior Investment Risk Analyst, you’ll help build Future Group’s investment risk capability and provide analysis that supports robust, sustainable portfolio construction. Working closely with the Head of Investment Risk and Analytics, Portfolio Managers and other analysts, you’ll:
- Generate regular analysis and reporting across factor risk exposures, active risk and performance attribution, as well as ad hoc deep-dive risk exposure, performance and stress test analysis
- Drive automation and scalability of the risk analytics platform, while contributing to data integrity, quantitative analysis tools, programming tools and SQL design
- Contribute to AASB S2 reporting of sustainability risk exposures
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and other analysts to support consistent risk analysis across investment strategies
- Peer-review quantitative models and programming developed by other teams and AI, including work supporting the DAA process and listed markets portfolio construction.
You'll love this job if
- You find superannuation opaque and frustrating, if you had the chance to revolutionise the industry to be better for people, you would
- You’re curious, analytical and enjoy turning complex investment data into clear insights
- You’re comfortable constructively challenging ideas, collaborating with Portfolio Managers and contributing to thoughtful investment debate
- You love sharing your ideas and seeing what happens. At this scale-up, you're not just a small fish in a big pond. Your contributions have a direct influence on our impact and how we work
- You like to be kept on your toes - change is inevitable here. You like to tackle new challenges, and maybe even discover talents you never knew you had.
We're looking for someone who
- Believes in Future Group’s mission and has a passion for moving Australia’s money out of fossil-fuels and into renewable energy
- Believes in using the power of money to build a sustainable and equitable world
- Has 4–7 years’ relevant investment or quantitative analysis experience, excellent quantitative analytical skills, and good programming and SQL skills
- Has achieved or is working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification or similar, and has experience with AI use cases for risk or quantitative analysis.
Some nice-to-haves but are not essential are:
- Exposure to MSCI Barra or MSCI One
- Experience with investment risk systems, portfolio construction, performance attribution or stress testing.
Don’t tick all the boxes? That’s okay, we like thinking outside the box anyway. We value skills, passion and who you are over what you’ve done or where you’ve studied. So if this job strikes a chord, we want to hear from you!
