Senior Investor Communications Specialist - Asia

Provide in-house expertise in Mandarin Chinese-English translation and interpretation for CMB Regional Centers, NHK Capital Partners and the Hogan Family investment and business operations, to facilitate investor relations, assist with maintaining current client relationships, and develop new relationships domestically and abroad while working with management to optimize and strategically grow complex business and investment platform. Perform English-Mandarin interpretation and translation to ensure effective and accurate communications with Mandarin-speaking clients and their business/legal advisors. In both Mandarin and English explain complex business and investment concepts regarding investments to clients. Evaluate and explain any differences and inconsistencies related to the meaning of words, concepts or practices as used in transactional documents and business practices and their Mandarin speaking counterparts, to ensure that the content is understood as intended. Hybrid remote: May work from a home office in the area of employment 1-2 days a week; schedule subject to manager approval. Requires up to 30% U.S. and international travel, primarily to Asia.

Essential Job Functions

• 10% - Document review – Review legal forms and documents completed in Mandarin. Identify incomplete or improper entries. Communicate updates and changes.
• 20% - Live translation and interpretation – Take incoming calls from clients and prospects. Translate real time questions and responses between CMB Personnel and clients/prospects. Assist with translation for live presentations.
• 15% - Translate and interpret written materials including presentation materials, notices and correspondence, legal documentation, and marketing communications.
• 15% - Client communications – Translations for investor communications, including litigation notices, fillings, announcements, and other client-facing materials.
• 15% - Client relationship management - Ensure Mandarin-speaking clients receive prompt, accurate information, including communicating translated questions and responses.
• 10% - Create and manage market-specific content, and manage social media inquiries – Work with marketing to develop relevant content to the assigned market. Monitor assigned market social media inquiries. Review market-specific social media performance and make content recommendations. Continuous updates to social media/marketing materials to ensure engagement and relevance.
• 5% - Independent presentations and representation of the company at investor and industry meetings and events – Create and deliver content that is culturally appropriate and relevant. Accurately convey CMB business offerings and processes. Tailor materials to fit the occasion/event. Professionally represent CMB at events, including in-person and web-based seminars, networking and marketing events.
• 5% - Asia market strategy and business development - Work closely with senior management on Asian market strategy. Work closely with investor relations colleagues and provide input on executing market strategy deliverables. Identify business development opportunities and present to management. Develop business-to-business relationships.
• 5% - Serve as subject matter expert for Asian market – Provide guidance to management and staff on linguistic, cultural and business customs for Asian markets. Provide culturally relevant advice on questions and strategies. Create standard processes tailored to Asian market.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must accurately and fluently speak, read and write Mandarin and English.

Education and Experience

• Master’s or equivalent degree in translation, interpreting and translation, or equivalent field with three (3) years of experience as an investor communications specialist, translator/interpreter, client relations associate, or related communications role; or Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in translation, interpreting and translation, or equivalent field with five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as an investor communications specialist, translator/interpreter, client relations associate, or related communications role.
• Requires three (3) years of experience in English-Mandarin translation and interpretation and investor communications for EB-5 immigrant investor projects, including: computer-aided or computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, relevant social media platforms, facilitating intercultural communications, relationship building with high-net-worth investors, simultaneous translation and interpretation for telephonic communications and meetings, translation and proofreading of legal and financial investment documents, and presentation of investment project information including program requirements and processes, investment terms and conditions, federal securities and immigration requirements, and partnership structure and obligations.
