The Nemetschek Group is a pioneer for the digital transformation in the AEC/O industry and focuses on the use of open standards (OPEN BIM). As one of the world's leading groups in this industry, the Nemetschek Group increases the quality in the construction process with its intelligent software solutions and improves the digital workflow of all those involved in the process. As a result, buildings can be planned, built, and operated more efficiently, sustainably and with less impact on resources.

Role Overview

Nemetschek is rolling out Microsoft Dynamics 365 as its global ERP platform. As Senior IT Project Manager ERP (m/f/d) in our Global IT organization, you lead the IT delivery of this program – from the global template through country and entity rollouts to go-live, hypercare and the handover into IT operations.

This is an in-house role: you sit on the client side of the table, steer our implementation partners on behalf of the business and stay accountable for the outcome beyond go-live. You work closely with the executive sponsor, the steering committee, business process owners, architects, application and integration teams, and our partners – creating one consistent ERP platform and standardized end-to-end processes across the group, while protecting business continuity throughout the migration.

The role is an individual contributor position with high visibility, real decision-making authority within the approved scope, and a strong focus on lateral leadership across countries, cultures and time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT delivery of our global Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP implementation across all in-scope entities and countries – accountable for scope, schedule, budget and quality.
  • Own the integrated implementation plan, covering global template delivery, country and entity rollouts, milestones, resources, dependencies and the critical path.
  • Establish and run project governance: status reporting, risk and issue management, change control, financial forecasting and escalation to the steering committee.
  • Coordinate global template delivery and the assessment of local requirements, promoting fit-to-standard adoption and ensuring deviations follow the agreed approval process.
  • Steer and challenge implementation partners on behalf of the business – managing statements of work, delivery commitments, change requests and partner performance.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams across countries and time zones, resolve dependencies and resource conflicts, and track deliverables and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate functional and technical workstreams, including solution design, configuration, extensions, integrations, data migration, security and environment readiness.
  • Ensure integrated planning and execution of system integration, end-to-end process, user acceptance and non-functional testing with clear entry and exit criteria.
  • Drive data migration readiness – ownership, cleansing, mapping, mock migrations and reconciliation – together with business data owners.
  • Plan deployment waves, cutover rehearsals and production cutover; consolidate go-live readiness and prepare go/no-go recommendations.
  • Align business readiness, training and change-management activities with the responsible business and change leads.
  • Manage hypercare and the transition into application support and IT operations, ensuring clear service ownership, documentation and operational acceptance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree (e.g. MBA) is a plus.
  • Several years of experience leading complex, international ERP implementations – ideally multi-entity or multi-country rollouts – through go-live and stabilization.
  • Predominantly in-house experience: you have led ERP projects from the client side within an IT organization and know what it means to live with the solution after go-live.
  • Hands-on delivery experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP; working knowledge of Microsoft Success by Design and D365 implementation governance.
  • Solid understanding of global template approaches, fit-to-standard delivery, localization requirements and phased rollout strategies.
  • Sound knowledge of finance and controlling (FI/CO) – e.g. general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cost and management accounting, and financial closing – and the related business processes, including how they integrate with other ERP modules such as procurement, sales and supply chain.
  • Good understanding of IT delivery and change processes, including release and deployment management, IT change management (e.g. ITIL-based) and the transition of solutions into operations.
  • Experience with both agile and waterfall approaches in product and solution development, and the ability to combine them pragmatically in a hybrid ERP delivery model.
  • Practical experience coordinating data migration, enterprise integrations, end-to-end testing, cutover and the transition to support.
  • Proven ability to manage implementation partners, project budgets and change requests.
  • Strong lateral leadership skills – you align and motivate cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management up to executive level, with a clear, structured way of presenting status, risks, options and required decisions.
  • Analytical, structured and resilient under pressure; able to balance global standards with local business needs and resolve delivery conflicts.
  • Project or program management certification (e.g. PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum) is an advantage.
  • Business fluent German and English; further languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally in line with rollout and go-live requirements.
