Senior Java Backend, Database Performance & Application Security Engineers | Remote

At Cafeto Software, we’re building a team for a US-based enterprise pricing software company. We’re hiring for three roles that will work together on the same product, a family of pricing applications running on both monolithic and microservices architectures.

1. Senior Java Backend Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain Java microservices, REST APIs, and business logic for pricing workflows.
• 6+ years of backend experience with strong Java, Spring, and Spring Boot skills.
• Nice to have: Spring 6/7, Dropwizard or Jersey, SQL Server, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps.

2. Senior Database Performance Engineer (PostgreSQL)

• Diagnose and solve database performance issues in production: query tuning, execution plans, indexes, statistics, stored procedures, and functions.
• Strong hands-on PostgreSQL experience. This is not a database administration role.
• Nice to have: SQL Server, pg_stat_statements.

3. Application Security Engineer (Java)

• Triage and remediate vulnerabilities and CVEs, upgrade dependencies, and eliminate insecure code patterns in a Java application.
• 3+ years of Java experience and working knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding.
• Nice to have: Snyk, SonarQube, Trivy, or similar tools; Maven or Gradle.

For all roles

• Advanced English and the ability to work with distributed teams across US time zones.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
