Senior Java Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Java Backend Engineer to join an international project focused on complex backend systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

Engagement details:

• B2B contract
• Initial duration: 6 months, with possibility of extension
• Remote
• Start: ASAP
• Rate: €270/day
• Romanian language is mandatory
• Professional working proficiency in English

Key technical requirements:

• Extensive professional software development experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on Java development
• Strong experience with Java 11+
• Solid knowledge of the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring Security
• Strong experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with Kafka or Pub/Sub
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Solid knowledge of REST API design and event-driven architectures
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with NoSQL databases, ideally Cassandra
• Experience with unit and integration testing, such as JUnit and Testcontainers
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog or Kibana
• Comfortable working in Linux or MacOS environments

Experience with event sourcing is highly valuable.

Nice to have:

• Google Cloud Platform or another major cloud provider
• Terraform
• GitHub Actions
• Scala
• JVM performance tuning
• Experience in the transportation or logistics domain
