Senior Java Developer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Java Developer to design and build robust, scalable microservices for our financial services clients. The Senior Java Developer will lead architecture and design discussions, champion code quality, and help automate testing, deployment, and monitoring in cloud environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who also enjoys mentoring others and driving continuous improvement. Our Maritimes office is located in Moncton, New Brunswick. This role offers a flexible hybrid arrangement, with occasional in-office days as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust, scalable microservices using Spring Boot.
  
• Lead architecture and design discussions for new applications and features.
  
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  
• Implement and advocate for best practices in code quality, testing, and performance, including participating in code reviews.
  
• Integrate with third-party services and internal systems.
  
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  
• Manage and automate the deployment and monitoring of applications in cloud environments.
  
• Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in Java development with a strong understanding of Java 8+.
  
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  
• Experience with containerization platforms such as OpenShift.
  
• Experience integrating with third-party services and internal systems.
  
• Experience leading architecture and design discussions and conducting code reviews.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
