About Silcube

Silcube Financial Systems builds software that helps investment funds and their managers run credit portfolios. Our clients are typically Luxembourg-based investment funds lending to major infrastructure projects, mergers and acquisitions, trade finance, and other large investments by mid-size European companies.

Our platform covers the whole loan lifecycle: origination, servicing, covenant monitoring, payments and reconciliation, and reporting in multiple layers. AI is integrated in our workflow. Our product is not limited to debt instruments and is already used by funds with multiple asset classes in their portfolios.

With the business taking off, we are now growing the team with a developer who can help speed up deliveries to new clients. Our team is small, close-knit, and incredibly effective. With us, what you build goes to production and gets used by the clients.

The role

You will join the development team and get hands-on with our product. Most of the work sits in the business logic: loans, cash flows, interest, fees, accounting entries and reports. Our value is in complex cases and the ability to run an investment fund, loan book, and all investors and assets on one platform. Specs are rarely complete on day one and client requirements are not firm. An important part of the job is helping to get them there. This requires genuine interest in finance and the ability to digest and discuss it.

You think systematically, see what matters to the client, and work with the team to simplify the complex and help the people around you do their best work. You own the outcome, not only the code, and think the work is done when the client’s problem is solved.

You take pride in what you create and you have the experience and courage to ship. You work on what the delivery needs, not on what feels comfortable. When quality is at risk, you ask for help or push for a priority decision instead of shipping poor work or passing the problem on. You use sound judgment on critical matters such as infosec, client data handling, and correctness of reporting, and you stay effective when deadlines are tight.

Must have

• Proven experience building and shipping production backend systems with Java and Spring Boot
• Skilled in transactional systems design, such as accounting or payments systems, and capable of discussing the economics behind the transactions
• 7+ years of relevant experience in back-end development
• Proficient user of AI coding tools in real development work, individually and as a team
• Fluent working English

Beneficial

• Experience in asset management, lending, banking, or accounting systems
• Genuine interest in international finance.
• Desire to learn about topics like private credit, private equity, venture capital, and venture debt, and multi-country, multi-currency transactions.
