Senior Java Engineer

We are looking for a Java Engineer with experience in Spring Boot, APIs, microservices, card issuance, payment processing, transactions, settlement, reconciliation, SQL, Kafka, and event-driven systems. Build and maintain backend services and APIs for a card issuance platform. Work on card lifecycle, transaction, settlement, reconciliation, and control workflows. Integrate with card processors, BIN sponsors, schemes, and other partners. Contribute to card-management product and frontend workflows. Build reliable services with strong testing, auditability, and operational visibility. Collaborate with product and engineering leads to translate requirements into working software. Participate in code reviews, releases, troubleshooting, and continuous engineering improvements. Requirements At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience. Direct experience building or operating card issuance systems. General fintech or payments experience alone is not sufficient. Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience building APIs or microservices. Production Java and Spring Boot experience is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of card lifecycle concepts and the roles of processors, BIN sponsors, and schemes. Experience with relational databases and asynchronous messaging or event-driven systems. Ability to contribute to modern frontend applications using JavaScript or TypeScript. Clear communication and the ability to work independently in a remote, India-hours setup.
