Senior Java Engineer – Low Latency Trading

We're building the core trading infrastructure behind an exciting new challenger in the prediction markets space.

Backed by eight figures of private investment, the platform is being built from scratch, with launch targeted for early 2027.

The founding technical team is already taking shape, and we're now looking for an experienced Java/Kotlin engineer to help build the exchange itself.

You'll work on the matching engine, order sequencing, trading gateways, ledger and the systems responsible for processing trades reliably at high speed.

This is a small, highly technical team where you'll have real ownership over architecture and engineering decisions.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong production Java/Kotlin expertise.
• Hands-on experience building low-latency, high-throughput, event-driven systems.
• Deep understanding of JVM performance, memory management, concurrency and garbage collection.
• Experience with deterministic processing, event sourcing, replication and recovery.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/UDP, and experience with APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience profiling and optimising performance-critical applications.

Even better if you've worked with: Aeron, SBE, Agrona, LMAX Disruptor, Chronicle, matching engines or exchange infrastructure.

We're particularly interested in engineers from HFT firms, hedge funds, investment banks, trading exchanges and high-performance financial technology teams.
