Senior Java Software Engineer (m/f/d) | Vienna, hybrid | 12+ months contract)

For our client, an international financial institution headquartered in Vienna, F1 Service is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to take ownership of a long-established enterprise web application in the area of Sustainable / Public Finance (cover pool management).

What you will do

• Develop and enhance a professional web application for the financial industry that supports a cover pool management solution
• Design, develop, document and maintain high-quality, testable software components
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing
• Maintain and further develop an enterprise application with more than 15 years of history
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders in an international environment
• Support CI/CD processes and source code management

What we expect

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java
• Strong expertise in Spring, Hibernate, SQL, SOAP and JAXB
• Experience with web technologies such as JavaScript and Apache Cocoon
• Solid knowledge of Gradle, SVN and Git
• Experience in developing and maintaining unit and integration tests
• Basic understanding of the banking industry; experience with cover pool management is a strong plus
• Ability to take ownership of the main development responsibilities for the product
• Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
• Fluent German and English (part of the existing documentation is in German)

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 12 months with extension option
• Workload: 40 hours/week
• Location: Vienna, hybrid (approx. 2 days per week onsite)
• Contract: freelance / B2B
