STAIRCASE FLOW

Retention Marketing Agency for DTC E-Commerce Brands

🚨 Senior Account Manager 🚨

Location: Remote

Type: Full-Time

Experience: 3 to 5+ Years

Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday

This Role Is For You If...

You can open a brand’s Klaviyo account and quickly spot what needs work.

You notice missing flows, weak segmentation, poor timing, underperforming campaigns, and opportunities the brand is not taking advantage of.

When you get a great email from a brand, you pay attention to why it worked. Maybe you save it, break down the structure, study the offer, or look at how the CTA was positioned.

If you see a welcome flow averaging 40% open rates, your first thought is probably how you can improve it.

You care about the details behind email performance. Subject lines, preview text, creative direction, segmentation, timing, offers, CTAs, flow logic, and testing all matter to you.

You also understand that what works for one brand may not work for another.

If that sounds like how you approach retention marketing, keep reading.

About Staircase Flow

Staircase Flow is a retention marketing agency working with DTC e-commerce brands.

We’ve helped generate more than $35M in revenue, worked with 65+ clients, and maintained a 94% client retention rate.

Our work focuses on building and improving the systems that turn more site visitors into first-time buyers and more first-time buyers into repeat customers.

That includes:

  • Automated email flows
  • Weekly campaigns
  • SMS
  • Pop-ups
  • Segmentation
  • Testing
  • Ongoing Klaviyo optimization

We work with brands across fashion, jewelry, supplements, health, personal care, and other e-commerce categories.

We are growing and looking for someone who can take ownership of client accounts and help us keep improving the quality of work we deliver.

The Role

You will manage the day-to-day strategy and execution for up to 6 DTC brands at a time.

You will be responsible for making sure the emails we send are strategically sound, well-written, properly implemented, and consistent with each client’s brand.

Each account also has a designer and Klaviyo technician. You will coordinate with both of them to move projects from strategy and copy through design, implementation, testing, and launch.

You will also be the main point of contact for your clients.

This role is a mix of account management, copywriting, retention strategy, project management, and hands-on Klaviyo work.

Responsibilities

Klaviyo Account Management

  • Own client Klaviyo accounts day to day, including updates, improvements, testing, and optimization
  • Review account performance and identify opportunities across flows, campaigns, segmentation, deliverability, and list growth
  • Write email copy designed to generate clicks and conversions while staying consistent with each brand’s voice
  • Build 25+ flow emails during new client onboarding
  • Produce 3-4+ campaign emails per week, per client
  • Work with designers in Figma to turn email concepts and copy into finished creative
  • Make sure campaigns and flows are properly built and ready to launch

Team and Workflow Management

  • Manage the workflow between yourself, the designer, and the Klaviyo technician assigned to your accounts
  • Keep deliverables moving and make sure deadlines are met
  • Give clear feedback on design and implementation
  • Make sure copy, design, segmentation, links, tracking, and technical setup are correct before anything goes live
  • Catch mistakes internally instead of waiting for a client to point them out

Campaign and Flow Execution
  • Build, schedule, and manage email campaigns in Klaviyo
  • Write and test subject lines and preview text
  • Set up campaign segmentation and exclusions
  • Add approved emails into automated flows
  • Run A/B tests across campaigns and flows
  • Review results and use them to improve future emails

Monthly Campaign Calendars
  • Build and maintain a campaign calendar for every client
  • Plan around promotions, product launches, holidays, seasonal events, customer objections, best sellers, and other relevant angles
  • Make sure campaigns are written, designed, approved, and scheduled ahead of time
  • Adjust calendars when client priorities or promotions change

Performance Tracking and Reporting
  • Monitor campaign, flow, and A/B test performance
  • Keep track of what is working across each account
  • Document useful findings so they can be applied to future campaigns and flows
  • Send weekly client updates covering completed work, upcoming priorities, performance, and anything that needs attention
  • Prepare monthly performance reports showing what happened, what we learned, and what we plan to improve next

Client and Team Communication
  • Be the main point of contact for day-to-day client communication
  • Handle revisions, questions, feedback, and requests
  • Keep clients updated without them needing to chase you
  • Coordinate with leadership when an account needs additional strategy or support
  • Join monthly strategy calls with clients
  • Join weekly internal team meetings and account debriefs

What We Expect

Critical Thinking

We do not want someone applying the exact same strategy to every client.

You should be able to look at the brand, products, customer base, offer, data, and existing account before deciding what should be done.

Problem-Solving

Things will go wrong.

Deliverability may drop. A campaign may underperform. A client may change an offer the day before launch. A flow may need to be rebuilt.

We expect you to figure out what happened, communicate clearly, and work toward a solution.

Communication

You should be able to explain strategy and performance in simple language.

Clients should understand what we are doing and why we are doing it.

Internally, your designer, technician, and leadership team should always know what they need from you.

Attention to Detail

Wrong links, incorrect segments, broken personalization, typos, outdated offers, and incorrect scheduling should be caught before anything goes live.

You are responsible for the quality of the work on your accounts.

Adaptability

Agency work moves quickly.

Priorities change, clients give feedback, promotions move, and new problems come up.

You need to be comfortable adjusting without losing track of everything else on your plate.

Work Ethic

We want someone who cares about doing good work and improving over time.

You should be looking for ways to make your accounts better instead of waiting to be told what to do.

Integrity

If you make a mistake, own it.

If you do not know something, ask.

If you need help, communicate early.

We care much more about solving problems than protecting egos.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in email marketing, retention marketing, or digital marketing
  • Experience working in a client-facing agency role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Klaviyo
  • Comfortable working with flows, campaigns, segmentation, deliverability, reporting, and testing
  • Strong e-commerce copywriting skills
  • Experience writing emails designed to generate revenue, not just look good
  • Experience working with Shopify-based DTC brands
  • Strong understanding of the e-commerce customer lifecycle
  • Comfortable working with designers in Figma
  • Experience managing or coordinating with designers, developers, technicians, or other team members
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage up to 6 client accounts at once
  • Experience with A/B testing and performance reporting
  • Available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday

Compensation

$3,000 to $4,000+ per month, depending on experience and performance.

There is room for compensation to grow as you take on more responsibility and contribute more to the agency.

Why Staircase Flow

We keep our account loads intentionally small.

You will manage a maximum of 6 clients, rather than being handed 15 to 20 accounts and expected to keep everything moving.

You will also have a dedicated designer and Klaviyo technician supporting your accounts.

That gives you more time to think about strategy, write stronger emails, review performance, communicate with clients, and actually improve the accounts you manage.

You will work directly with leadership and have a lot of ownership over the work you produce.

We are looking for someone who wants to become very good at retention marketing, take responsibility for their accounts, and grow with the agency as we continue to expand.
