STV's Land Development team is growing, and we're seeking an experienced, licensed Landscape Architect who wants to take meaningful ownership of projects and expand their influence within a multidisciplinary practice.

Based in our Owings Mills, Maryland office, you'll work alongside landscape architects, civil engineers, architects and project managers on a diverse portfolio of land development, building and infrastructure projects, including urban redevelopment, mixed-use, residential, education, commercial, institutional, streetscape and public-space work.

This role is designed for a professional who brings strong design judgment, technical expertise and the ability to help lead projects from concept through construction.

Why This Opportunity

At STV, landscape architecture is part of an integrated design process. You'll collaborate directly with clients, agencies and multidisciplinary teams to solve complex site challenges and create thoughtful, buildable environments.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

· Take ownership of landscape architecture and site-design assignments from concept through construction.

· Work on highly visible projects throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic.

· Apply both design creativity and technical rigor to complex site and development challenges.

· Collaborate directly with clients, consultants, agencies and project teams.

· Mentor and support developing landscape architects and designers.

· Contribute to project planning, quality, schedules, budgets and project pursuits.

· Help shape the continued growth of STV's landscape architecture practice in the region.

What You'll Do

· Lead and contribute to site planning and landscape architectural design from early concepts and master planning through permitting, construction documentation and construction support.

· Develop solutions for planting, hardscape, grading, circulation, streetscapes, public spaces, amenity areas and other site environments.

· Prepare and oversee conceptual plans, presentation materials, permit packages and construction documents.

· Coordinate landscape architecture with civil, architectural and other disciplines to deliver cohesive and buildable solutions.

· Conduct site investigations and analyses to inform design and development decisions.

· Design sustainable, resilient and context-sensitive landscapes, including urban and on-structure environments.

· Participate in client, consultant and agency meetings and support permitting and approval processes.

· Provide technical review and quality control for landscape architecture deliverables.

· Mentor developing staff on the execution of projects, proper communications, and “housekeeping” and provide technical guidance as appropriate.

· Support project managers with scope and fee development, scheduling, budgets and deliverable coordination.

· Participate in construction-phase services and support proposals and project pursuits.

· Assist with Standards and Process improvements.

·

Qualifications

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.

· 10+ years of professional landscape architecture experience, preferably including land development, urban/site design or multidisciplinary project delivery.

· Active Professional Landscape Architect license in good standing.

· Maryland licensure preferred, or ability to obtain Maryland licensure through reciprocity.

· Demonstrated experience taking projects from conceptual design through permitting and construction documentation.

· Strong understanding of site planning, grading, storm water management, planting design, hardscaping, materials and landscape construction.

· Experience coordinating with civil engineering, architecture and other design disciplines.

· Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining design and technical quality.

Technical Experience

Strong working knowledge of several of the following:

· AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D

· SketchUp

· Adobe Creative Suite

· Microsoft Office

· MicroStation

Experience with Land F/X, Enscape, Revit or GIS is a plus.

Experience with Maryland permitting and land-development requirements, including Baltimore City and surrounding jurisdictions, the Maryland Forest Conservation Act, and Mid-Atlantic plant materials, is also valuable.
