Job Description
This is a remote position.
We’re building real software.
We’re looking for a Senior Laravel Developer who can architect, ship, and own production systems that thousands of users depend on daily.
You’ll design modular backends, craft reactive Livewire interfaces, scale queues and workers, tune databases, and sleep peacefully knowing your code won’t wake you at 3AM.
If you enjoy solving hard problems, refactoring messy ones, and building systems that last years — you’ll feel right at home. If you are an AI prompter, copy answers from Stackoverflow - this job will hurt!
Before you apply...
- Remote working does not mean relaxed working. You are simply not travelling back and forth to a location, but it is expected that you work in an environment that can allow you to concentrate and you put in the same time and effort as you would from an office.
- Flexible hours does not mean you decide to work when you want daily. You are required to maintain discipline in your work time. Flexible time means you may decide to start work at 10:00am and end at 7:00pm - but this must be the routine always.
- Remote working also involves accountability. If you need time off for an hour during the day - make sure you inform before hand.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build modular Laravel 12 applications (domain-driven / module-based structure)
- Design scalable systems using queues, workers, caching, and background jobs
- Develop advanced Livewire experiences with reactive, app-like UX (not just forms)
- Optimize database queries, indexes, and performance bottlenecks
- Implement clean, testable, maintainable code using SOLID principles
- Own features end-to-end: design → build → deploy → monitor → improve
- Write clear PRs that reviewers actually enjoy reading
- Participate in architectural decisions
- Improve deployment reliability through Docker and CI/CD pipelines
Tech Stack
PHP 8.3+, Laravel 11.x, Livewire (advanced usage), Blade + Tailwind + Alpine, MySQL, Docker
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
- 5+ years professional PHP experience
- Deep experience with Laravel (latest conventions, not legacy patterns)
- Strong Laravel 12 architecture knowledge (services, actions, jobs, events, policies, etc.)
- Advanced Livewire (state management, complex components, performance tuning)
- Solid frontend integration using Blade + Tailwind + Alpine
- Strong SQL skills ( MySQL or PostgreSQL ) and query optimization
- Hands-on with Redis, queues, caching, and workers
- Experience deploying with Docker
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure, etc.)
- Security best practices (auth, validation, rate limiting, encryption, CSRF, etc.)
- Comfortable owning production incidents and fixing root causes
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Modular monolith experience. Example: You must have experience working in an envrionment that utilizes https://github.com/InterNACHI/modular
- Event-driven or service-oriented architectures
- Experience with large multi-tenant SaaS platforms
- Infrastructure knowledge (cloud, containers, networking basics)
- Experience with
- Laravel Octane
- Horizon
- Pint
- PEST PHP
- Familiarity with frontend ergonomics or UX thinking
- Open-source contributions or technical writing
What “Great” Looks Like
You might be a great fit if you:
- Think in systems , not controllers
- Reach for queues and async processing before adding another sync request
- Refactor mercilessly (politely)
- Profile slow queries instead of throwing hardware at the problem
- Write tests without being asked
- Explain complex problems simply
- Can debug production issues without panic or blame
- Have strong opinions… loosely held
We’re not hiring someone to “help with tickets.”
We’re hiring someone to own systems.
If you like shipping serious software, solving hard problems, and working with engineers who care about craftsmanship — let’s talk.
Super important note
Strong Livewire skills are required — we build rich, reactive, app-like interfaces, not basic CRUD forms.
- building complex, stateful, reactive interfaces (nested components, events, lifecycle hooks, computed properties, form objects, and real-time UX without page reloads)
- Strong understanding of performance and architecture — minimizing hydration overhead, optimizing renders, caching, and structuring components
- Comfortable treating Livewire as a frontend framework, not just “Blade with AJAX”
- Also understand that under the hood, there is a need to understand https://alpinejs.dev/
Benefits
1. Work Like an Adult
- Fully remote team
- No clock-in / clock-out culture. We measure outcomes, not hours
- Take time off when you need it (just communicate in time - not on the last hour - like a responsible adult)
We hire professionals and treat you like one.
2. Zero “Fake Urgency” Culture
- No pointless overtime
- No weekend crunch for bad planning
That said — production systems sometimes misbehave. When things go sideways, we show up, fix it properly, and move on.
3. Ownership & Trust
- End-to-end feature ownership
- Your code actually gets shipped
- Be part of architecture and design decisions.
Small team = high impact.
4. Healthy pace
- Flexible working hours - but with discipline.
- Family and life come first
- We understand if you have a dentist appointment, or need time to pick your kid from school.
5. Simplicity, Honesty
- No corporate politics
- No 10-step approval process for anything
- Learn by solving real problems
Just: build good software, help each other, go home
6. Growth
- We assure you, you will get paid a competitive salary
- Credit for L&D
- Budget for tech conference attendance
- All paid premium accounts to tools that help your productivity.
