Your New Role
We’re looking for an experienced compliance and financial crime professional who can hit the ground running, bringing strong technical expertise and the confidence to work across the organisation. You’ll play a key role in strengthening enterprise-wide risk and compliance capability, while supporting the continued embedment of Aware Super’s uplifted AML/CTF Framework into sustainable business-as-usual practices.
This role brings together deep financial crime and compliance expertise with capability development. You’ll translate complex regulatory and framework requirements into practical learning, guidance, tools and processes that help teams confidently apply risk and compliance requirements in their day to day roles.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and delivery of practical capability programs across AML/CTF, financial crime, breach assessment and obligations management.
- Develop role based learning pathways, competency expectations and technical training for Line 1 and Line 2 teams.
- Translate legislative, regulatory and framework requirements into clear guidance, case studies, decision tools and practical learning experiences.
- Build capability in risk based AML/CTF and financial crime risk management, including emerging risks, typologies and regulatory developments.
- Lead the ongoing refinement and maintenance of AML/CTF standards, guidance materials and role-based operating procedures.
- Ensure alignment between Financial Crime policies, standards, operational processes and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure learning content is accurate, current and relevant.
- Identify capability gaps and develop targeted initiatives that strengthen knowledge, risk culture and operational effectiveness.
How do you exceed our expectations?
- 5+ years’ compliance experience within financial services or similar regulated environment (exposure to superannuation is highly desirable).
- Detailed knowledge of Compliance and AML/Fraud legislative and regulatory requirements within financial services.
- Experience training and developing others, including delivering clear and engaging learning and adapting content for different learning needs.
- Strong ability to influence and gain stakeholder cooperation, particularly when navigating competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear messaging.
- Strong presentation skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders across the business.
