Job ID: 7230

We are looking for a Senior / Lead Risk Expert to drive the development of Group Credit Risk oversight and help strengthen effective, consistent and value-adding 2LoD credit risk oversight. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in complex development initiatives, coordinate delivery across organisational boundaries and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

About our team

Meet the Credit Oversight Development team. We support Nordea’s independent 2LoD credit risk oversight by developing common approaches, coordinating credit risk initiatives and enabling clear, forward-looking credit risk insights for management and decision-making bodies. We work closely with other risk areas and business areas to improve oversight practices, governance, processes and ways of working. One of the key priorities is enhancing our credit risk oversight capabilities through extended use of data, AI and automation.

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions - and that we imagine you share with us.

The role can be based in Finland, Denmark, Sweden or Norway.

What you will be doing:

  • You will lead and coordinate development work that enhances the effectiveness, consistency and maturity of Group Credit Risk oversight.
  • You will turn strategic priorities and stakeholder needs into clear plans, practical solutions and high-quality deliveries.
  • Lead Group Credit Risk oversight development initiatives from scoping and planning through implementation and follow-up.
  • Coordinate projects ensuring clear objectives, roles, milestones, dependencies and decision points.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, subject-matter experts and delivery teams across Group Risk and key stakeholders in business areas.
  • Develop and improve together with team members credit risk oversight framework, governance, methodologies, processes, reporting and ways of working.
  • Prepare concise decision material, recommendations, progress reporting and risk-based insights for head of Group Credit Risk.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, consistency and continuous improvement across Group Credit Risk.

Who you are

This is the right role for you if you are structured, proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to create clarity in complex environments. You combine a strong risk perspective with excellent stakeholder management skills and a pragmatic approach to delivery. You are comfortable leading without formal authority and can move effectively between strategic discussions and detailed project coordination.

Your background and skills include:

  • A relevant university degree, or equivalent relevant experience, and fluent professional English.
  • Significant relevant experience in credit risk management, risk oversight/control, governance, compliance, audit, regulatory implementation or a comparable field within financial services.
  • Proven ability to lead complex development initiatives or projects involving multiple stakeholders and organisational units.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing skills, including the ability to build alignment across different perspectives.
  • Strong project coordination skills, with a structured approach to priorities, milestones, dependencies, risks and follow-up.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to translate complex topics into practical solutions and clear recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing material for senior management and decision-making bodies.

It would be ideal if you also have experience:

  • Developing 2LoD credit risk oversight/control frameworks, methodologies or operating models.
  • Working in a Nordic or international, cross-functional organisation.
  • Regulatory change, supervisory interaction or risk-related transformation.
