At Bupa, purpose meets possible. Join us and help shape a future where healthcare is more connected, more personal and more human.
We’re a global healthcare leader trusted by millions and committed to helping people to live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. Healthcare is changing, and so are we. We’re investing in more clinics, better systems and smarter, more connected ways to help our customers. As we continue to expand our services and invest in innovation, you’ll help create a healthcare system that meets people where they are, responds to what they need and leaves them better than before.
Here, your work has purpose, your voice matters and your future is full of possibility. Just imagine the impact you could make.
The purpose of this role:
Joining an experienced in-house legal team, you'll work across a diverse range of property, leasing and development matters, partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to provide commercially focused legal advice. With a particular emphasis on supporting leasing and property transactions and development projects, this role offers the opportunity to influence outcomes from project inception through to completion while building trusted relationships across the business.
Working closely with Property, Development and operational teams, you'll manage a varied portfolio of matters, negotiate practical solutions and provide pragmatic legal advice that enables informed decision-making. You'll enjoy genuine stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to contribute across all stages of the project lifecycle, supporting the delivery of strategic development initiatives across the organisation.
Alongside the legal work, you'll play an important role in mentoring, sharing your expertise and supporting the continued success of the legal team. You'll also contribute to best practice across the property legal function, supporting legal technology initiatives and driving the continued evolution of efficient, high-quality legal services.
What you’ll need to make it possible:
- Completed a degree in law and hold a current relevant practising certificate in a state Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.
- Significant post admission experience in-house or in private practice, including experience in providing property, commercial and contracting legal advice.
- Experience in dealing with commercial clients and counter parties in written and verbal communications, including negotiations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting leasing transactions, property acquisitions, disposals and related transactions, including legal due diligence, risk assessment and transaction management.
- Experience advising on construction and development projects, including negotiating and managing construction and consultancy agreements.
- Proven ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders and influence decision-making in a complex business environment.
Why you’ll love it?
We support our people to be the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves. From providing initiatives that develop careers to looking after our people’s health, wellbeing and futures. Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working, with a mix of time in the office and at home, while having plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and take your experience to the next level.
If this sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s shape the future of healthcare, together.
Here at Bupa your wellbeing, identity, and personal story are respected and valued.
