Shape the legal and commercial outcomes of major infrastructure, civil and resources projects while partnering with senior leaders across a high-performing organisation.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced construction or commercial lawyer to step into a senior in-house role where you'll influence business-critical decisions, manage complex contractual and project risks, and support the delivery of some of Queensland's most significant projects.

Offered as an 18-month fixed-term contract, the role provides the opportunity to make an immediate impact within a thriving legal function while enjoying the breadth, autonomy and commercial exposure.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice across a diverse portfolio of construction, infrastructure and commercial matters. You will work directly with executive leadership, project teams and key stakeholders across the business, helping navigate legal risk while enabling commercial outcomes.

You'll also play an important role in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the ongoing development of a highly regarded legal team.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating major construction and infrastructure agreements
• Advising on project delivery, procurement and contract management matters
• Providing expert advice across construction, commercial, property, regulatory, WHS and dispute-related matters
• Supporting contract claims, risk management and dispute resolution strategies
• Managing external legal advisers and specialist counsel
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments impacting operations
• Supporting governance and compliance initiatives across the business
• Building strong stakeholder relationships and acting as a trusted commercial adviser

About You You are likely to bring:

• 7+ years' post-admission experience
• Strong construction, projects, property or commercial law expertise
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts and commercial arrangements
• A thorough understanding of procurement models, risk allocation and contract administration principles
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• The ability to translate legal advice into practical commercial solutions
• A collaborative leadership style and a genuine interest in mentoring others
