Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its growing technology practice, advising clients across technology transactions, data, privacy, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

This is a highly autonomous role suited to a lawyer who enjoys operating as a trusted senior adviser and taking ownership of complex matters. You will lead client engagements, develop legal strategy, manage risk and provide practical, commercially focused advice across a broad range of technology and emerging technology issues.

The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the technology business through client relationship development, business development, thought leadership and the development of new AI-related legal offerings.

Our client is open to flexible and remote work, lawyers can be based in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Newcastle and Perth

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• 7+ years' post-admission experience, gained in private practice, in-house or a combination of both;
• Strong experience advising on complex technology agreements, including SaaS, cloud, licensing, procurement, outsourcing and data arrangements;
• A genuine interest in AI and emerging technology;
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to independently lead matters and influence stakeholders;
• A willingness to mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team environment;
• An entrepreneurial mindset;
• Australian admission, a current or eligible practising certificate and full Australian working rights.
