We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team and take ownership of international gaming regulation, corporate and commercial matters. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll act as a trusted adviser to senior management and cross-functional teams, balancing regulatory requirements with commercial objectives in a fast-growing, multi-jurisdictional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on gambling and iGaming regulation across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on B2B gaming operations

  • Assess regulatory requirements and legal risks linked to new market entry

  • Manage gaming licensing applications, renewals and ongoing regulatory obligations

  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on Alea’s operations and strategy

  • Liaise with gaming regulators, external legal advisers and relevant authorities

  • Advise internal teams on the regulatory implications of commercial agreements, integrations and business initiatives

Corporate & Commercial

  • Support corporate governance, group structures, intercompany arrangements and international corporate matters

  • Draft, review and negotiate complex B2B agreements with game providers, operators and strategic partners

  • Support corporate transactions, entity incorporations, restructurings and other corporate projects

  • Identify legal risks and provide commercially practical recommendations

  • Coordinate with external counsel across jurisdictions

Business Partnership

  • Act as a trusted legal adviser to senior management and cross-functional teams

  • Independently manage complex legal matters from initial assessment through to implementation

  • Support the Head of Legal in building a strong, efficient and proactive legal function

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of relevant experience, ideally including substantial in-house experience in iGaming

  • Demonstrable experience in gambling regulation across multiple jurisdictions

  • Hands-on experience with gaming licensing, regulatory assessments and market entry requirements

  • Solid corporate and commercial law background, including complex international B2B agreements

  • Experience working with gaming regulators and external legal advisers

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and make sound legal recommendations

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • Fluent professional English, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in a B2B iGaming supplier, casino game aggregator or gaming technology provider

  • Familiarity with Malta, UK, Spain, Brazil and other regulated gaming markets

  • Experience with international corporate structures and cross-border transactions

  • Experience in fast-growing international tech businesses
