Senior Legal Counsel 80–100% – Swiss Bank | Start: ASAP | Permanent Position

For a Swiss Bank, we are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel, preferably with Swiss Bar Admission, to strengthen its Corporate Legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legal professional with a strong background in banking, financing and financial markets law to advise on complex corporate client matters and contribute to the development of new financing solutions and business areas.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP or upon agreement
• Workload: 80–100%
• Employment Type: Permanent position
• Locations: Zurich Airport (“The Circle”), Lausanne and/or St. Gallen
• Working Model: Hybrid – for a 100% workload, up to two days of home office per week are possible

Your Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate financing transactions and financial products, including bilateral and syndicated loans, financing arrangements, collateral and security agreements, and guarantee transactions.
• Advise and support the corporate client business on a broad range of legal matters.
• Provide legal support for corporate client matters in French-speaking Switzerland, particularly in connection with the Lausanne-based business.
• Provide legal assistance in cases of payment default and related matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and financing agreements.
• Collaborate with external business law firms where required.
• Support the development of new business areas and financing services, including initiatives related to digitalisation.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across Legal, Compliance and the wider business.

Your Profile

• Swiss Bar Admission is strongly preferred.
• Ideally, at least four years of relevant professional experience following bar admission. There is some flexibility for candidates with strong and directly relevant experience; however, the position is not intended for newly qualified lawyers.
• Solid experience in financial markets and banking law, particularly in corporate financing.
• Experience with financing transactions, loan agreements, securities and/or guarantees is highly desirable.
• Ability and motivation to quickly familiarise yourself with new and complex areas of law.
• Independent, pragmatic and solution-oriented working style combined with a strong team mindset.
• French and German are required working languages.
• Very good command of English.
