As Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide legal support across Invesco's products, services, and distribution activities throughout EMEA, with a particular focus on the UK market. Working closely with colleagues across Legal, Product, Distribution, Compliance, and Regulatory functions globally, you will advise on complex legal and regulatory matters while helping the business achieve its commercial objectives.

Among your responsibilities will be:

  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to junior legal counsel, trainees, and external legal resources.
  • Act as an integral member of the EMEA Product & Distribution Legal Team, advising on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters relating to Invesco's products, services, and distribution activities.
  • Lead the review, drafting, negotiation, and ongoing management of legal agreements with clients and business partners across the EMEA region, particularly in the UK, including investment management agreements and strategic partnership arrangements.
  • Support and oversee legal matters relating to EMEA product initiatives and other business teams delivering related services.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on their impact on EMEA products, services, and the distribution of Invesco-managed funds globally.
  • Assist with regulatory inquiries, corporate initiatives, policy development, process enhancements, and contractual matters.
  • Collaborate effectively with legal colleagues worldwide to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal support across the organization.

You'll need to have:

  • Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction, with the right to practice in the UK.
  • Significant post-qualification experience gained either in-house within an investment management or financial services organization, or within the financial services practice of a leading law firm.
  • Proven experience negotiating complex agreements with large institutional counterparties.
  • Experience working within an international organization is advantageous.
  • Experience advising asset management businesses is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • MiFID investment services, including portfolio management and investment advisory activities.
    • Regulated investment funds and the associated legal and regulatory framework.
    • The broader financial services and asset management industry.
    • Legal documentation relevant to investment management and distribution activities.
    • Current regulatory developments affecting investment products and services across EMEA.
  • Strong commercial judgment and business acumen.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skilled negotiator with the ability to influence, persuade, and build consensus.
  • Comfortable operating in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and drive matters through to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
  • A collaborative team player with the highest levels of professionalism and integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal English; business-level German or Italian would be a distinct advantage.
