  • Educate and guide business stakeholders with regard to key commercial, competition, data privacy, cybersecurity, and significant regulatory considerations.
  • Negotiate with key customers and sales channel partners.
  • Provide ongoing counseling regarding (and efficient implementation of) various corporate policies, initiatives and/or programs.

Critical Competencies

  • Ability to lead a team of lawyers and contract managers to deliver excellent legal support within tight deadlines to a high-volume sales organization.
  • Proven ability to independently lead and execute all facets of challenging and intricate engagements and do so with highest integrity and ethics – from preliminary/conceptual advice, through structuring, negotiating, drafting, closing, and any subsequent conflict resolution.
  • Highly polished and effective negotiation, communication, listening, and drafting skills, including those suitable for interaction with senior managers and executive leadership within a global and matrixed organization and with senior management of key customers.
  • Expertise in U.S. healthcare legal and regulatory environments, including anti-kickback laws, fraud and abuse statutes, and privacy laws applicable to Siemens Healthineers as a medical device manufacturer, as well as those applicable to its customers.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying and solving problems, including constructively engaging with relevant stakeholders and suggesting creative solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage heavy workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to perform in a complex cross-functional business environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally (less than 10%).

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited school and an active license and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • At least 15 years of legal experience in a well-regarded law firm and/or the in-house legal department of a leading healthcare company; significant in-house experience a strong plus, especially within a publicly-listed company.
  • Experience with large hospital networks and/or medical device companies is strongly preferred.
