Job Title: Senior Legal Manager – Regulatory & Competition Law

Sector: In-House Legal

Location: Dublin 2 (Hybrid)

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Our Client

Our client is one of Ireland's most prominent organisations, operating within a highly regulated and commercially complex environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Manager to lead a specialist regulatory legal team within its established in-house legal function.

This is a senior leadership appointment offering the opportunity to shape legal strategy, influence major business decisions and work directly with executive leadership on matters of significant commercial and regulatory importance.

Why should you apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced regulatory or competition lawyer looking to take on a senior leadership position within a major Irish organisation.

You will have responsibility for leading a specialist legal team, providing strategic advice across the wider business and playing an important role in major projects, transactions and regulatory developments. The position offers direct exposure to senior management and the Group Head of Legal, alongside regular engagement with regulators, Government departments and other external stakeholders.

With a broad remit spanning regulatory law, competition, compliance and commercial strategy, this is an opportunity to move beyond purely technical legal advice and have a genuine influence on business decisions.

The role also offers a flexible hybrid working model, a generous pension and an attractive wider benefits package.

Who should apply?

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister admitted to practise in Ireland, ideally with 10+ years' PQE.
  • Strong background in regulatory law, competition law or the energy and utilities sector.
  • Experience providing strategic legal advice to senior management and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a specialist team.
  • Strong understanding of complex regulatory environments and their commercial implications.
  • Experience managing regulatory investigations, disputes, consultations or competition-related matters.
  • Excellent commercial judgement, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Candidates from both private practice and in-house legal backgrounds will be considered.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a specialist regulatory legal team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal advice across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on regulatory, competition and compliance matters.
  • Advise on significant business developments, transactions and projects from a regulatory perspective.
  • Oversee legal responses to regulatory investigations, enquiries, disputes and merger control matters.
  • Work closely with internal compliance and regulatory teams to manage legal risk and strengthen compliance frameworks.
  • Represent the organisation in engagements with regulators, Government departments and external stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external legal advisers and specialist counsel.
  • Support the wider legal leadership team in developing legal strategy and improving the delivery of legal services.

What's on Offer?

  • Senior leadership position within a major Irish organisation.
  • Opportunity to lead an established specialist legal function.
  • Direct engagement with executive leadership and key external stakeholders.
  • Broad exposure to strategically important regulatory and commercial matters.
  • Hybrid working – minimum two days per week in the Dublin office.
  • Generous pension, career development opportunities and comprehensive wider benefits.
