Senior Linux Engineer

Join a London-based team responsible for keeping a sophisticated systematic trading platform reliable, resilient, and scalable. You will work with low-latency, always-on Linux systems supporting a global quantitative trading environment operating 24/7.

The role combines hands-on production support with building automation and tooling that improves platform reliability and scalability. You will work in a small, experienced engineering team with strong ownership of business-critical systems and direct exposure to the technology underpinning trading operations.

The environment places a strong emphasis on engineering quality, automation, monitoring, security, and operational resilience.

What you'll do

• Monitor, triage and resolve production issues on the systematic platform during the APAC/EMEA day

• Contribute to automation, tooling and runbooks that reduce manual work and prevent repeat incidents

• Take part in the follow-the-sun on-call rota and handovers with London and New York

• Grow your ownership of services and your depth across the platform

• KEY – Drive patching and automation across the environment (Linux on prem and cloud)

What you'll bring

• 3+ years in production support / systems engineering in a demanding environment

• Solid Linux fundamentals and scripting (Python or Bash)

• A genuine reliability mindset and appetite to automate and improve

• Clear communicator, calm under pressure

Nice to have

• Exposure to observability tooling and CI/CD

• Interest in trading / market-data systems

• Cloud (AWS) familiarity
