The Senior Litigation Paralegal position will provide administrative and litigation support to the Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel and General Counsel. The Paralegal must have extensive contract knowledge, familiarity with real estate law and civil litigation (i.e. docket systems like PACER, civil and local procedure, case deadlines and calendaring, interaction with courts’ office administration) and have excellent organizational skills. Absolute confidentiality, good judgment, organization skills, and strong attention to detail are required in all duties and any other tasks as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Draft routine letters, notices, pleadings, discovery, affidavits, orders, and other legal documents: Proofread and edit legal documents and other written materials to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain legal calendaring system to ensure timely compliance with various legal deadlines. Analyze and coordinate the gathering of information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence which is necessary to respond to discovery and assist attorney(s) with preparing responses. Utilize pertinent information to make independent decisions and recommendations to the supervising attorney. Correspond with internal client, various court personnel, local or outside counsel and opposing counsel. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervising attorney and/or personnel. Answer questions regarding the meaning of certain lease provisions for various departments in the company. Perform comprehensive research for leasing representatives relating to specific business and legal issues. Comprehension and application of state and federal court process and procedure as it relates to litigation. Participate in legal/litigation meetings and legal/leasing meetings and department meetings. Perform administrative duties required of the position including reviewing and updating status report. Adhere to Tanger’s Core Values: Build Trust, Challenge the Status Quo, Win Together, and Make it Happen REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal Certification Minimum of five (5) plus years of experience working on litigation cases PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Five (5) plus years’ experience working on litigation files, to include organizing pleadings and discovery, participating in discovery, managing deadlines and calendars, drafting notices and pleadings, communicating with court personnel, parties, witnesses and opposing counsel. Hiring Range Disclaimer: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees.
