Golf In New Zealand Limited | Central Auckland | Hybrid | 30–40 hours per week | Starting January 2027

Have you built a reputation for exceptional luxury travel? Would you welcome the opportunity to bring your experience, relationships and ideas to a business where you can help shape its future?

We’re looking for an exceptional inbound travel professional to take a leading role in designing and delivering our bespoke journeys, while also contributing to sales, marketing, and business development through website content, promotional materials, systems development, and other initiatives.

Working with our Directors and Travel Operations Manager, you’ll have the trust, autonomy and opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to how the business develops.

About Us

Golf In New Zealand Limited is a New Zealand-owned company operating two complementary products:

• Golf In New Zealand specialises in bespoke golf journeys, combining the country’s leading courses with exceptional accommodation, food and wine, and local experiences tailored to each guest’s preferences and interests.

• Luxury In New Zealand focuses on broader luxury and lifestyle travel, creating personalised journeys around guests’ interests in New Zealand’s landscapes, food, wine, culture and experiences.

Across both products, we design private journeys for discerning international couples and groups, with a strong focus on the US market. This role will contribute to travel design and operations across both products.

We’re passionate about creating joyful and memorable experiences for our guests. Our guests have fun, we have fun, and we’re looking for someone who shares that enthusiasm and takes genuine pride in what they do.

How We Work

You'll join a close-knit, collaborative team, working directly with our two Directors, Travel Operations Manager and specialist guides.

We value experience, share ideas openly and give people the responsibility to make decisions within their areas of expertise. You’ll be close to the decisions that shape the business, with the opportunity to influence both the journeys we create and how we deliver them.

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on role spanning travel design, operations, client service and sales and marketing. You’ll own complex itineraries from the initial brief through to delivery, while working closely with our Travel Operations Manager and Directors.

• Bespoke travel design: Translate each client’s interests and expectations into considered, imaginative itineraries, with close attention to pace and the details that make a journey personal.

• Quoting and commercial awareness: Prepare accurate proposals and costings that balance an exceptional guest experience with sound commercial decisions.

• Reservations and logistics: Coordinate accommodation, golf, transport, experiences and guest documentation so every element works together.

• Client and partner relationships: Build trust through clear, thoughtful communication with guests, international travel advisers and suppliers.

• Travel delivery: Keep our guides thoroughly briefed, anticipate potential issues and respond calmly when plans change.

• Systems and operations: Apply your experience to refine workflows, improve how we use our tools and systems, and support growth while maintaining our service standards.

• Sales and marketing: Contribute to our sales and marketing initiatives, including assisting with website content management and identifying opportunities to showcase our journeys and experiences.

• Entrepreneurial thinking: An entrepreneurial mindset, with the curiosity, initiative and commercial awareness to look beyond day-to-day responsibilities, recognise opportunities and contribute to the wider success of the business.

• Leadership and accountability. Natural leadership qualities, with the confidence to make decisions, take responsibility and positively influence others, while remaining collaborative and hands-on.

About You

• A strong track record in inbound luxury travel, including managing complex, bespoke itineraries and clients with high expectations. Experience managing larger group bookings would be an advantage.

• Deep knowledge of New Zealand’s luxury accommodation, experiences and travel logistics, supported by strong supplier relationships.

• Experience improving travel systems or operational processes, with the ability to turn good ideas into practical changes.

• Sound commercial judgement and confidence managing quotations, costs and margins.

• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to anticipate what others might overlook.

• Polished, personable communication and the confidence to advise clients and represent the business.

• The initiative to make decisions and take responsibility, alongside a collaborative approach.

• Confidence across travel and office systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Tourwriter experience is an advantage.

• An interest in New Zealand’s golf, food, wine and culture. Our specialist team is available to help deepen your understanding in these areas.

• A creative eye, strong written communication skills and an interest in contributing to website content, promotional materials and other marketing initiatives.

Above all, We’re looking for someone with exceptional personal standards who cares deeply about their work, takes ownership and follows through on commitments. Someone who brings genuine warmth, curiosity, enthusiasm, a can-do attitude and a sense of fun to the team, takes pride in getting the details right and wants to make a real difference.

What We Offer

• Remuneration: A highly competitive package at the top end of the market reflecting the experience, capability and responsibility you bring.

• Flexibility: A hybrid arrangement, with time split roughly evenly between our central Auckland office and working from home across the year. Hours and working patterns agreed together within a 30–40-hour week.

• Influence: Direct involvement in improving how the business operates, with the trust and support to put your ideas into practice.

• Looking Ahead: We see this as a long-term appointment with genuine opportunity to grow alongside the business. For an exceptional person who makes a significant contribution to our success, there may be scope over time for a broader leadership role and deeper participation in the business.
