About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior M&A Manager to drive the origination and execution of renewable energy transactions and strategic partnerships, with a particular focus on growing our German onshore platform across wind, solar and battery storage. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in renewable energy investing, managing transactions from initial opportunity screening and valuation through due diligence, negotiation, investment approval, signing and closing. You will work closely with senior management and multidisciplinary teams across development, engineering, finance, legal and tax, helping shape investment decisions and deliver the company’s growth strategy. The role is ideally suited to an experienced transaction professional with strong commercial judgement, a proven track record of leading complex M&A processes and a passion for renewable energy, infrastructure investment and value creation.

You'll play an important role in:

• Leading end-to-end acquisition, divestment, joint-venture and strategic partnership processes, from origination and screening through due diligence, negotiation, approval, signing and closing.

• Originating and prioritizing high-quality pipeline of opportunities while building and maintaining trusted relationships with developers, asset owners, investors, utilities, advisers and other market participants.

• Defining appropriate deal structures and negotiation positions, with a clear view of risk allocation, value creation and deliverability.

• Coordinating valuations, business cases, financial models and commercial sensitivities, and challenging key assumptions together with internal specialists.

• Leading multidisciplinary due diligence workstreams, identifying material risks and ensuring that findings are translated into valuation, contractual protections and executable mitigation plans.

• Working closely and aligning with colleagues across development, engineering, finance, legal, tax, to support consistent M&A standard across geographies.

• Negotiating term sheets, exclusivity arrangements, cooperation agreements and key commercial provisions in transaction documents alongside legal counsel.

• Preparing clear, timely decision-ready investment committee and management materials, including recommendations, alternatives, key risks and opportunities to create additional value.

• Managing transaction governance, budgets, advisers, timetables, approvals, documentation and completion mechanics with strong process discipline.

• Monitoring German renewable-energy market developments, regulation and competitive dynamics and converting insights into actionable business-development initiatives.

• Supporting post-closing handover, integration and tracking of transaction commitments.

To succeed in the role, you:

• Have a university degree in finance, economics, business, law, engineering or a comparable field; an advanced finance or business qualification is an advantage.

• Bring substantial relevant experience, ideally seven or more years, in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, investment banking, private equity or corporate M&A, including experience leading and executing M&A transactions.

• Have strong knowledge of the German renewables and electricity market and the commercial drivers of onshore wind, solar and/or battery-storage projects.

• Are highly familiar valuation frameworks, financial modelling, due diligence and transaction documentation.

• Possess a broad local network of industry contacts and stakeholders in Germany that enables you to monitor market trends and originate new opportunities.

• Can combine rigorous analysis with pragmatic judgement, prioritise material issues and make recommendations under time pressure and with incomplete information.

• Have a strong track record in negotiation, stakeholder management and influencing senior internal and external decision-makers.

• Can independently lead complex cross-functional workstreams while remaining collaborative, transparent and accountable.

• Communicate clearly and concisely in writing and presentations, including with investment committees and executive stakeholders.

• Native in German language and fluent in English at negotiation level
