Senior Manager - Apps & Automation

About the Role

We are looking for a people-focused Development Manager to lead and develop our Apps & Automation team, comprising nine team members. You will join an international setup and support employees across Denmark and Poland, with a strong focus on coaching, capability development, engagement, team performance, and creating the conditions for sustainable delivery.

You will help employees grow in their roles, identify future skill needs, and ensure that the team has the right competencies and capacity to support current and future service demands. Working closely with Service Owners and Domain Leadership, you will be accountable for building a capable, engaged, and accountable team that delivers on agreed service commitments.

This is primarily a people leadership role with responsibility for team performance, capability development, workforce planning, and delivery oversight. Strategic technology direction, architecture decisions, product ownership, and business prioritization are handled through other roles in the organization.

Your Role

As Development Manager, you will be the primary people manager for the Apps & Automation team. You will lead through coaching, clear expectations, regular dialogue, and active support for each employee’s professional and personal development.

The role focuses on people leadership, performance management, development, recruitment, team health, and delivery accountability. You will be responsible for ensuring that the team has the capacity, capabilities, and operating environment needed to deliver high-quality and stable outcomes while supporting employees in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop employees across the Apps & Automation team
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance and development dialogues
  • Support employee wellbeing, engagement, motivation, and retention
  • Identify future capability needs, competency gaps, and relevant development actions
  • Drive recruitment and onboarding activities when new capabilities or capacity are needed
  • Be accountable for high-quality, stable, and sustainable delivery against agreed service commitments
  • Monitor and communicate team performance, delivery risks, dependencies, and capacity constraints

Collaboration & Ways of Working

  • Work closely with Service Owners and Domain Leadership on team capability, capacity, and delivery performance
  • Ensure alignment between service priorities, team capacity, and delivery commitments
  • Create clarity around goals, expectations, responsibilities, and accountability
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and effective knowledge sharing
  • Act as the escalation point for people-related matters and delivery challenges within the team

Required Qualifications

Professional Competencies

  • Experience leading and developing technical cross-country teams
  • Experience with performance management, talent development, and competency planning
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and capacity management
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and people development skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience within automation and low-code platforms is considered an advantage
