Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Finance to lead finance partnership for our Docs business unit. Superhuman is a compound startup: multiple products and go-to-market motions that share one company platform. Each business unit needs a finance partner who understands its product economics and helps leaders decide how to grow the business and where to invest.

You’ll partner directly with Docs leadership to shape the financial plan, manage performance, and guide decisions across Product, Engineering, and Go-To-Market. You’ll own the Docs Product P&L narrative and key metrics, working closely with Go-To-Market Finance, Functional Finance, and Corporate Finance to connect the business unit view to the company plan.

This is a visible, hands-on role for a finance leader who combines strong business judgment with rigorous financial management. You’ll move from detailed analysis to clear recommendations, bring structure to ambiguous questions, and help leaders act on opportunities and risks as the business evolves.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Serve as the lead finance advisor to Docs leadership, translating product strategy and business priorities into financial plans, resource choices, and recommendations.

  • Own the Docs Product P&L narrative and key metrics: explain performance, drivers, risks, and opportunities, and recommend where to invest, adjust, or course-correct.

  • Partner with Docs leaders to identify and assess opportunities to grow usage and revenue, drawing on product performance, customer behavior, market trends, and competitive context.

  • Lead Docs budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for personnel, vendors, and other investments. Analyze run rates and hiring plans, and align resource plans with business drivers, strategic priorities, and financial targets.

  • Own Docs' direct revenue. Partner with GTM Finance on the product assumptions that inform the ARR forecast, and explain Docs-specific performance within it.

  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews against plan and forecast with business partners, explaining variances, surfacing risks and opportunities, tracking the effectiveness of strategic initiatives, and recommending actions.

  • Build and maintain models to understand Docs’ product economics, including conversion, retention, expansion, cohort behavior, unit economics, gross margin, and infrastructure and AI model costs. Use these models to assess scenarios and inform product and investment decisions.

  • Evaluate investments and growth initiatives across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, channels, and customer segments through business cases, scenario modeling, and return-on-investment frameworks.

  • Deliver concise performance narratives and recommendations for operating reviews, executive discussions, Board materials, and strategic planning.

  • Partner with GTM Finance, Functional Finance, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Data, Revenue Operations, People, Product, and Engineering to align on assumptions, definitions, and data and to drive decisions through execution.

  • Build repeatable planning, reporting, and decision-support processes for emerging revenue streams, helping Docs scale from bespoke analysis to a durable operating cadence.

  • Use AI and automation to improve analysis, research, model review, scenario development, and workflows, validating outputs with sound judgment.

About You

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or a related field, including 3+ years partnering with product or business unit leaders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including the ability to build flexible, assumption-driven models from ambiguous inputs and use them to assess business choices.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex analysis into concise recommendations and executive-ready materials.

  • A track record of influencing senior leaders and building alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with complex models, large datasets, and tools such as SQL, Python or R.

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools for analysis, research, or workflow automation, with good judgment in validating outputs.

  • Able to prioritize, work independently, and drive complex workstreams to completion in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and revenue recognition
